The Riddles - Mattheo And Tom One shots

Forgive me

Popularity, a word I don't know the meaning of. My twin brother Theo is the popular one. I'm the nerdy loner apparently because I'm a year ahead of him. I was put up a year because I'm to advanced apparently. I've been at Beauxbatons until now. I'm on my way to hogwarts for my final year. I'm joining seventh year which angers Theo greatly. Annoying my brother is my favourite hobby.
I arrived at hogwarts and after being sorted in to Slytherin I sat next to a boy with short wavy brown hair, brown eyes and well let's just say he was quite handsome.
"I'm Tom, Tom Riddle"
"Wonderful to meet you"
"What brings you to Hogwarts a year ahead of your age"
"Beauxbaton wasn't challenging enough for me so I requested to move here and I've always been a year ahead, I'm to advanced for my age apparently."
"Well that's something we have in common, I hope I will finally have someone to compete for highest grades with. Your Theo's sister I take it"
"Yeah were twins. We don't get along though."
"Another thing we have in common, I don't get along with Theo either or my own brother for that matter. See the brown curly haired one sat on Theo's left, that's my little brother Mattheo, him and Theo are best friends."
"That doesn't surprise me honestly"
"It seems we have a lot in common. I get the feeling were going to get along just fine."
"I get the same feeling"
Over the few next weeks me and Tom became close friends. We were always at odds with our brothers. I especially despised Mattheo. He always gets in to fights, he smokes and drinks a lot and there is always a different girl on his arm everyday. Theo has turned out to be the same as him. He's a bad influence on him, now I know why Tom doesn't get on with Mattheo. He enjoyed picking on me when Tom wasn't around, which thankfully wasn't very often. Sadly right now though I'm alone in the library and the vulture has arrived right on cue. I swear he follows me around, he always seems to know where I am it's really creepy.
"Well hello there princess"
"Don't call me that"
"What exactly are you going to do to stop me saying it" I stayed silent. "Exactly you can't do anything. Now your going to be a good girl and your going to do my homework for me"
"She won't be doing anything you say little brother."
"How predictable you are big brother"
"Do you have to insist on bothering her all the time."
"It's entertaining"
"What can possibly be entertaining about bullying someone"
"I wouldn't call it bullying"
"Bullying is exactly what it is. Now I suggest you stay away from her in future. Understand little brother"
"Not one bit" He said with a smirk as he walked away. Tom came and sat next to me.
"Are you alright darling"
"Yeah I'm fine, you arrived just on time."
"I'll always be there darling you know that" "I know and I'm grateful for it. Im glad i have you around Tom"
"The feeling is mutual Sophia, now let's go get something to eat." For the next two months Mattheo and Theo would bully me constantly. They were trying to get Tom angry and sadly it was working.
"HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU TO LEAVE HER ALONE!"
"A bit over protective aren't you Tom."
"Maybe if you knew what it meant to care for someone then you would understand"
"So you care about her do you"
"Yes I do, have you got a problem with that."
"As a matter of fact I do" Mattheo pointed his wand at Tom and a duel began. Mattheo was playing dirty and was landing a few punches in when he could. Tom was getting weak and unable to fight for himself. Just as Mattheo was about to finish Tom off I stood between them.
"Mattheo stop please you'll kill him if you keep going. Please don't hurt him anymore"
"You care about him don't you?"
"I care about him a lot, he's my best friend please stop hurting him." I saw a look of pain on Mattheo's pain.
"Mattheo just tell her, she will find out eventually."  I looked from Tom to Mattheo but he never spoke. "Oh for merlins sake. It would appear that Mattheo has feelings for you." I stood there frozen. Unsure what to say or do.
"Sophia please say something"
"I... I need some air." I ran out as fast as I could and as soon as I got outside my body betrayed me. My legs gave way and my eyes poured. Why was I reacting like this what's wrong with me. I don't even like Mattheo do I? I like Tom don't I? After I calmed myself down I went to my room and cried myself to sleep. Everything was so straightforward but now I'm questioning everything. I always thought I had feelings for Tom and hated Mattheo but now I'm not sure of anything anymore.
For the entire weekend I locked myself in my room and refused to leave. When someone knocked on my door on Sunday evening I was expecting it to be a Riddle so of course I shouted "go away!"
"Sis its me"
"Theo?" I said in a confused tone as I opened the door.
"I know I'm the last person you would expect to hear this from but I'm worried about you. You've been locked in here all weekend"
"Why the sudden change, you were picking on me a few days ago and now you suddenly care"
"Sophia it's time you knew the truth. The reason I changed and started hating you is because I was jealous. Our parents would always tell me I should be more like you, why can't I be special like you and I ended up hating you because of it. I shouldn't of taken my anger out on you and I'm sorry for everything I've done" He was almost in tears.
"I didn't know they were doing that to you. I wish you had told me, were a team remember and your are special Theo. You may not be special in the way I am but your special in your own way. For example your the only person in the entire school strong enough and brave enough to beat Mattheo. I'm not mad at you Theo I just miss my brother." He held his arms out and I gladly accepted the hug.
"Now you need to talk to Tom and then Mattheo. I know your scared to but just hear them out okay" I nodded and then left to find to Tom. I found him in his room and I was dreading this.
"Sophia I'm really sorry I didn't mean to upset you."
"You didn't you did nothing wrong"
"I did though. I made you think there was more than friendship between us when there isn't."
"Tom you didn't. I only ever saw us as friends. I used to think I liked you but when you told me about Mattheo's feelings for me it left me questioning everything and I realised I only ever liked you as a friend and I was to scared to admit the truth about Mattheo. Can we forget everything that happened and go back to how things were."
"Of course we can"  after my conversion with Tom I found Mattheo at the Astronomy Tower. I was dreading this conversation more than the last. I went and stood next to him leaning on the railing. Neither of us spoke for the first few minutes.
"I'm really sorry Sophia, I was an asshole to you and there's no excuse for the way I acted. I guess I was to scared to tell the truth. Saying I hate you was easier. I just hope you can forgive me one day."
"It's going to take time for me to forget everything you did but over time I will be able to forgive you. As for trusting you well trust is earned not given. If you do truly have feelings for me then you'll prove it"

He ended up doing just that. He spent the next six months earning my trust and forgiveness. After that he asked me to be his girlfriend and I said yes. The rest as they say is history
