The Riddes, Mattheo and Tom and the Notts Theo and Sophia live mirrored lives but until now had never met. The Riddles were raised by there aunt and uncle, Lucious Malfoy was an abusive monster towards his nephews and thanks to him Tom has a list of daily struggles that has meant Mattheo has become his carer.
The Notts were raised by there father after there mother died when they five. There father same as Lucious was an abusive monster and thanks to him Sophia now has a list of daily struggles that has meant Theo has become he carer.
The four teens were at a muggle museum that Sophia and Tom begged there brothers to take them to. After several hours of walking around they all got hungry and the Riddles ended up behind the Notts in the line. The Notts got to the front and the women behind the counter was making Sophia uncomfortable as the women kept staring at her which made her grip on to Theo even tighter and hide behind him. "Can you stop staring at her your making her uncomfortable." The women had shifted her gaze and was now staring at Tom making him do the same thing Sophia was doing. "You know what fuck this place. Shall we." Mattheo said to Theo. The Notts followed to Riddles out and upon getting outside Mattheo and Theo sat Tom and Sophia down to try and calm them. Within minutes they were calm which was odd as normally it took longer than that. "He never calms that fast" said Mattheo confused. "Yeah neither does she. Maybe they like being around each other. I'm Theodore Nott or Theo for short , this is my sister Sophia." Mattheo looked down at his feet and smiled before looking back to Theo "I'm happy you guys are Notts because we're Riddles, I'm Matheo and that's Tom." The boys chatted for a bit while Tom and Sophia looked through some books they brought with them, the two had formed an instant connection. Mattheo and Theo discovered that Tom and Sophia's list of daily struggles were identical. They both struggled to speak around anyone that wasn't there brothers so the four used sign language when needed, both were prone to flashbacks and panic attacks, due to recent head trauma at the hands of Lucious and the Notts father, both Sophia and Tom had forgotten some important life skills like tying there shoes, using zippers, buttons and buckles, doing anything small and fiddly with there hands so it meant they both needed help getting changed. They are also both terrified to be without there brother incase someone comes to hurt them and both have regular nightmares so have to share a room with there brother.
The Notts discovered that the Riddles were living in a hotel so they invited the two boys to move in them. The Notts bought a house in the Welsh countryside last month after they escaped there father.
The Notts and Riddles were joining Hogwarts at the end of the summer and spent the last few weeks of the break travelling back and forth to Hogwarts for meetings with the headmaster to discuss Tom and Sophia and what can be done to help with there care. The headmaster thankfully agreed to let the siblings share a room, they were pre sorted in to Slytherin and the headmaster gave them a tour and showed them where there dorms would be so it would be easier when they arrive for the new school year. Tom and Mattheo were sharing and right next door was Sophia and Theo. All four were happy. They spent the rest of the summer enjoying each others company. Tom and Sophia were now comfortable enough to talk to each other and to the other ones brother. Hogwarts however would be a whole different story. The headmaster had a meeting with all the teachers and explained the situation, the other issue will be Draco Malfoy, the Riddles cousin. They hate him and he hates them.
They were outside the great hall waiting to be announced, Notts in the front and Riddles behind them. Sophia and Tom had a tight grip of there brothers arms to keep there nerves under control. The doors opened and they walked in. Mattheo immediately locked eyes with Draco who received a death stare from Mattheo. They were greated by the headmaster before taking there seats. Throughout the feast they kept to themselves and only talked to each other, although Sophia and Tom did very little talking. Over the first few weeks they got a lot of stares and whispers mainly because of there surnames. The Nott name was just as cursed as the Riddle name. After that the stares and whispers changed. One day the four were sat in the library when Tom got to hot and asked Mattheo to help him take his jumper off as it had buttons and a zipper, Sophia also got to hot and asked for Theo's help to take her cardigan off. The whole time Draco and his friends were watching them and whispering amongst themselves. Potter and his friends were also watching but weren't whispering about it. They were curious but kept here thoughts to themselves. Draco's group however took great joy in telling the whole school and now the four friends were being stared at and laughed at because of it. Sadly for Draco, him and his friends all got detention for spreading it around the school.
It was now after the Christmas break and the Riddles and Notts were in the great hall. Tom and Sophia as usual had there head in a book and were noting stuff down while whispering to each other. Mattheo and Theo had realised that Tom and Sophia had feelings for each other but right now the brothers had no idea what to do about it. Sophia now hugs Tom more than Theo and the two always have to be physically connected in some way. Thanks to there bond they are now less scared and don't need to cling to there brothers quite as much. They have both re learned some of the skills they lost but still have a long way to go.
Just as they were about to leave the hall Draco and his friends decided to be nasty about Tom and Sophia, both brothers snapped but couldn't fight with there fists because of there siblings being there so instead they decided to use there words.
After Draco said his insults Mattheo lost it "Your blaming us for your abusive father being in Azkaban. We weren't lying Draco. Your father was an evil vile abusive moster. It's his fault that Tom ended up like this. All you ever cared about was yourself, you never even bothered to check on your cousins. While you were being well fed and cared for, we were being starved and beaten by your father. Even your mother never gave a shit about us. Me and Tom only ever had each other." Mattheo was seething with anger and now it was Theo's turn to say his peice "Ever since we got here all I've noticed is you acting like the big man on campus, you claim you've had such a hard life. You don't know what the meaning of the word is. Hard is being forced to watch your father beat your sister when your only six years old, hard is listening to your sisters blood curdling screams while she gets crucio'd at seven years old and ten years later both of us still having nightmares about it because that is a sound I will never get out my head. Hard is waking up one morning to find your sister covered in blood and unconscious after being beaten during the night. Hard is being starved while your father sits in front of you and feasts on a three course meal. Hard is having to try do all your schoolwork, attend classes and be your sisters carer all while trying to help her recover from the past and help her re learn the skills that you Draco and your friends keep making fun of her for not knowing. You wouldn't even be able to manage half of that in a day. My entire life since birth has revolved around my sister and it always will. Since we got here I've had the joy of watching her slowly getting better and re learning the skills she lost. While you make fun of her for not being able to button up her cardigan, we celebrate when she's able to do one button by herself because praise is what she needs not idiotic, stupid, malicious comments like you keep spreading. Maybe you should use some of your daddy's money and go buy a dictionary and learn what the word kindness means because clearly being kind is a skill that you dont possess." Theo went to hug his sister as Mattheo had few more choice words for his cousin.
"Draco were you aware that your father kept us locked in the dungeon most of the time, were you aware that your father forgot to feed us most of the time. Were you aware that your father used to Crucio us just because he was bored. Were you aware that the reason you never got punished is because he gave us your punishment. Were you aware that every time I tried to protect my brother it earned me an extra Crucio. Were you aware that not long after your last birthday your father beat and tortured Tom so bad that I thought he was dead. I thought my brother had died! Do you have any idea the amount of times both me and Theo have thought our sibling was dead, the amount of times all four of us would go to bed and wonder I we would even wak up the next morning. It was so bad that there were days the four us went to sleep and prayed we never woke up. Everytime though our prayers were left ignored and now we know why because those unanswered prayers meant we lived to end up meeting and having the close bond we now share. You may be our cousin Draco but you are not our family. Theo and Sophia are our family. The only people the four of us have is each other, the only people we can trust and rely on is each other. Since we met we've helped each other through some really bad days. As carers me and Theo rely on each other to help Tom and Sophia recover and it makes our job and our lives a lot bloody harder when assholes like you are being nasty. So from now on keep your opinions about us to yourselves and let us care for our siblings in peace. Also by the way Draco I'm sure I speak for the entire school when I say you and your friends are nothing but bullies. Who would of thought it four teens with two cursed surnames and psychotic fathers would end up being the nice ones. I don't know how you sleep at night with the way you treat people. Lastly cousin me and Theo can promise you one thing, when it comes to those two, we would burn the world to the ground to protect them and we will happily burn you down with it if we hear you or your friends say another word against Tom and Sophia. Understood!"
Malfoy nodded out of fear. Mattheo and Theo grabbed there siblings and left so they could cool off after that encounter.

Things got easier for the four teens after that. Everyone left them alone and by the time they graduated Hogwarts Sophia and Tom were almost fully recovered. The four still stuck to each other like glue though, with Tom and Sophia ending up getting married and having two children and Mattheo and Theo falling in love and getting married and adopting two children, all four of them finally had a happy loving home.
When there four children became teenagers there parents sat them down and told them about the hardships they faced in there childhood and teenage years. They wanted there children to have an understanding that everyone has there own struggles in life and the best way you can help someone is with kindness.
