The Riddles - Mattheo And Tom One shots

About a month in to sixth year Hogwarts welcomed two new students, Mattheo and Tom Riddle who both joined Slytherin. Mattheo was warm and welcoming where as everyone was terrified of Tom including his own brother. Tom preferred to be alone, he hated being around people, he didn't trust anyone. He thought his world was perfect, he had a place for everything in his mind and his personal spaces. Everything about his life was calm and organised until the first day after Christmas break.
"Now boys and girls before we tuck in to the feast I have an announcement, we have the honour of welcoming back a student, rejoining our Slytherin sixth years please welcome Sophia Nott." The entire hall erupted in cheers of joy, even though she was a Slytherin she was the most popular girl in school. Every house loved her and almost every student and teacher did as well. After greeting the headmaster she spotted her mischievous best friend Enzo and went running in to his arms.
"I missed you so much Soph, I'm so glad your back" the two sat down and Sophia was filled in on the gossip she missed and introduced to the new boys. Tom only ever sat with the group at meal times, the rest of the day he was alone.
Sophia was intrigued by him, she could tell if she wanted to get to know him it would be a battle. The next morning it was time for class, first up was transfigurations. She walked in and struggled to hold back the lump in her throat when she saw Tom sat in what used to her brothers seat. After composing herself she went and sat in her usual seat which was now next to Tom. As soon as she sat down the whole room gasped, she rolled her eyes at them "merlins sake don't be so childish, I've sat in this seat since first year and I intend on sitting in it until the end of seventh year so grow up." She opened her books and ignored everyone including Tom's stares.
Every class she went in to she was greeted by Tom sat in the seat that used to belong to her brother, by the end of the day she was emotionally drained from holding back tears for to long. She went to Enzo's room and sat in his arms crying her eyes out while he tried to comfort her.
A few weeks later she was in the library studying when she was surprised to see Tom sit down next to her. "Sophia I don't understand you. Everyone in the school including my own brother are all scared of me but your not. Why aren't you?"
"Even the devil needs someone Tom, you may think you don't but you do and even though you may not see it now you will someday. Also ive met people scarier than you" He chuckled at her "unless you've met my father then I doubt that." She stood up to leave, looked him in the eye and smirked "not your father, my father." She walked away leaving Tom confused and intrigued. He wanted to know more about her but was to scared to trust her. He was fighting an internal battle of his feelings and he had no idea what to do about it.
It had been two months and now Tom and Sophia spent a lot of time together and Tom had finally learned to trust her. He still didn't understand anything about his feelings. Sophia was enjoying his company so much that she hardly spent any time with her other friends. She never noticed they had distanced themselves from her and slowly the entire school was starting to dislike her for spending time with Tom. She was so focused on him that she never noticed her world was crumbling around her and she was beginning to loose everyone in her life.
At the beginning of March she started to notice that everyone was avoiding her, including Tom. He hadn't spoken to her in a week and she had no idea why so she got fed up and went looking for him to demand answers. She found him at the Astronomy Tower. "Tom what's going on why are you avoiding me. Did I do something wrong?" He turned around to look at her and his eyes were cold and dead. "You should know shouldn't you." She looked at him confused "I really have no idea what I'm supposed to have done."
He scoffed at her "you lied about everything, you pretended you cared and pretended you wanted to be in my life. It was all an act for your little popularity game. You lied to me and you used me. I knew I was wrong to trust you." She looked at him shocked "who's telling you this it's all lies." He moved closer to her "my brother and I mean who should I believe you or my brother." She wiped a tear from her eye "he's lying, I truly do enjoy your company and I do care about you." He laughed at her "I suggest you leave before I get angry" she ran to her dorm in tears and cried until she fell asleep.
For the next week she noticed everyday that no one would talk to her. She was completely alone, even Enzo hated her now.
She locked herself in her dorm for an entire week and no one bothered to check on her, not even the tachers. She survived on the small stash of junk food she had hidden under her bed. Sophia was broken, weak and frail, she grabbed her diary out from under her bed went to Tom's room knowing he was out for his after curfew stroll she snuck in and left it on his bed. She wasn't sure what she was going to do now but she wasn't going back to her dorm. She knew Tom's route off by heart so she avoided it not wanting to bump in to him. She went to the Astronomy Tower and sat on the floor against the railing and got lost in her dark thoughts.
Tom had returned to his dorm to find the diary on his bed, he saw the initials S.C.N engraved on the front. He realised who it belonged to and was about to go return it when he thought there must be a reason its here so he decided to read it but hought it best to do it with the group as they know her better than him, especially Enzo. They all sat in Tom's room and listened as he read it out to them
