"Looks fun" A deep voice said into Areum's ear making her jump and lose the thread she was working with. She groaned and turned to the owner of the voice with an annoyed expression, meeting an ego stricken smirk from Jaemin.
"Yeah, I'm having the time of my life right now" she deadpanned, rolling her eyes as she turned back to the patient
"Well clearly he isn't, you're messy" Jaemin hummed deeply, sipping on his coffee as he watched her work.
"My hands are shaky, that's all" she said, disregarding his insult at her work and he chuckled
"Why? Do I make you nervous?" He retaliated to try and get a rise out of her but she only bit her tongue to hold back a remark
"Am I...interrupting something?" The awake patient asked as he turned around slightly to take a look at the two doctors giving each other a stare down
"No sir, you're completely fine. Do you feel any sort of pain or discomfort?" Jaemin asked and the patient hummed awkwardly
"It's a little...pokey" he described and Areum rolled her eyes before looking up to Jaemin who was condescendingly shaking his head at her
"I apologise Mr. Suh...Dr. Jung why don't you let me take over here?" Jaemin smirked
"Fine. I have other patients to—"
"Pay close attention. You need the practice" Jaemin said, teasing her with Jeno's words and proving that he was behind this whole situation
"You're a dick" she mumbled under her breath and Jaemin—along with the patient—pretended not to hear that.
"You want to go in at an angle first and don't try to get the needle in both sides at once, take your time with it" Jaemin instructed, his hands having steady control of the stitch and needle.
"Knot it three times but your final one should always be on top of skin and ensure that the wound is fully closed so the skin can fuse nicely" Jaemin said
"How the hell are you so fast?" She asked as she watched him work in awe
"That's what she said" the patient mumbled and Areum broke out into a quick laugh while Jaemin raised his brows in surprise
"I hope you don't mind me asking but...if you're a doctor shouldn't you know how to do a bunch of stitches?" He asked and Jaemin hummed smugly
"She's just an intern so she—"
"Actually, maybe it's because this intern hasn't been sitting in on any surgeries for the whole week that she's been working here" Areum said with a scoff
"Or maybe you just never paid attention in medical school where you were taught how to suture. See Dr. Jung here isn't the best listener—"
"And Dr. Na is a petty little bi—"
"Dr. Jung...can you meet me in my office after you finish up with these stitches" Jaemin said with a fake smile, passing the tools back to her while she glared lasers into him
"I'm sorry I spoke" the patient said awkwardly and Areum sighed
"Sorry you had to sit—well...lie down—through that" Areum said, clearing her throat quickly as she finished up the stitches. She sighed as she looked at the finished work, seeing her slanted and uneven stitches while Jaemin's were perfectly straight and smooth. Maybe she did need the practice after all.
She bid a quick goodbye to the patient as Jisung started to take over, sending her a slight judgemental look after seeing the weird stitch pattern. She muttered a string of curses along her breath as she rode the elevator up to the floor of Jaemin's office, thinking about the numerous things he could possibly give out to her about now. She wasted no time to push down on the metal door, not bothering to knock at all.
"What?" She hissed, seeing him twist around in his office chair with his arms crossed over his chest
"Lock the door" he said, peering an eye open to watch her follow his orders quickly, wanting to get this whole ordeal over with. She approached his desk, standing infront of him with hands on her hips
"What?" She repeated again with clear disinterest in her face
"Come closer, I won't bite" he chuckled dryly making her roll her eyes before walking around the table and standing right infront of him as he rested his head against the back of his chair, smirking up at her.
"What could you possibly want?" She asked again through clenched teeth and he smiled up at her
"Get on your knees" he said simply as if it wasn't the most out of pocket thing to say to her right now
"What?!" She asked, baffled at what his sentence was implying and he chuckled knowingly
"Get down on your knees and apologise to me" he repeated and she scoffed
"Why the fuck would I do that Na Jaemin?" She asked with disbelief, shaking her head at his request
"You know why" he said and she rolled her eyes
"I really fucking don—" she pursed her lips into a thin line as she realised what he was getting at
"Yeah...you remember now?" He asked, raising a brow at her and she sighed
"I'm not getting on my knees for you" she said finally and he chuckled darkly
"Oh really? You had no problem doing that the other night" he said, the corner of his lips tugging up into a bigger smirk. She sucked her teeth and hanged her head a little at the slight embarrassment from his words. She let out a sigh, slowly dropping down to her knees as his eyes lowered down with hers
"I'm sorry" she said simply and he cooed slightly at her submission
"See? Wasn't so hard now, was it?" He said with a dark smile, patting her head lightly and she scoffed, rolling her eyes. She gripped her hands onto his knees, pulling herself back up to stand upright before glaring down at him
"Sorry that you're the world's biggest fucking asshole" She spat out and he roughly grabbed her wrist before she could turn around away from him, slamming her front against his as he caged her with his arms
"You scratched my Tesla, the least you could do is apologise and be grateful I'm not pressing charges" he said with a tense jaw
"The least you could do is be grateful I didn't drive it off a fucking cliff" she retorted back with a smirk. And that did it. Na Jaemin had finally had enough of her bullshit.
