SOZIN'S COMET PART 3 OF 6

The gaang followed you and greeted June.

"Hey! I remember her! She helped you attack us!" Sokka whined.

"Yeah, the good old days.." Zuko said awkwardly while you and June chatted away.  " We need your help finding the avatar. Again." Zuko stated while you and June giggled off the end of your conversation.

"That doesn't sound like fun." June pouted. You punched her in the arm. Toph was definitely starting to rub off on you.

"Well then. Does the end of the world sound like fun?" You asked ignoring Zuko's wild hand motions of frustration.  June sighed and stood up leading the way out to the bickering mole thingy and bison.

"Nyla!" June called affection lacing her voice as she tossed the creature a steak. "Who's my little mm snuffly wuffly!"  She cooed stroking the animals snout. Katara tossed June Aang's staff and the animal began sniffing around. The animal sniffed the air then the ground. You could feel this sense of dread in your stomach. Then it let out a whining sound before flopping onto the ground.

"What does that mean?" Zuko asked raising an eyebrow.

"Your friend is gone. He doesn't exist kind of gone." June told us. You flinched at her words. If Aang just vanished then what were you going to do?! You couldn't face Ozai!

"Wait so he's dead?" Sokka asked horror evident in his voice.

"No if he were dead we would be able to find a corpse. Well that was fun. See ya." June waved us off before walking over to her pet. That was till Zuko chucked an old smelly sandal and it her in the back of the face.

"Find him." Zuko said. His voice was impatient. Scowling June let her mole sniff the sandal and then took off. Zuko practically chucked you into the saddle before chasing after her. While in the sky you had sat in the corner of the saddle knees pulled to your chest.

"We need to change our little plan of attack." You told them suddenly.

"Wait what? Why?" Sokka asked bewildered.

"I am going with Aang or in his place. I am the avatar too and I need to step up to that plate." You said your stomach flipping as you basically said you would take Aang's place in the battle against Ozai. We follow June all the way across the earth kingdom. After you spoke nobody said anything to you, and you were honestly grateful for it. You landed outside the walls wringing your hands at the thought of seeing Iroh again.

"It's been a long day, let's set up camp and search at dawn." Zuko stated. You set up the tents with Toph when suddenly they collapsed and a ring of fire circled around you. You being the avatar put the flame out within the second it was lit. Then you felt a sharp pain, it felt like someone was taking something out of you. Aang was talking to his past lives which were part of you as well. You leaned on Zuko.

"Aang can you just, not." You whimpered. Zuko wrapped an arm around you. Then above you on a rock was Master Paku, Master Jyong Jyong, Master Bumi, and some other master you didn't know.

"Well look who's here!" Bumi laughed snorting while he was at it.  You laughed a little at it. When the pain ended for a sec before it was brought up again.

"What's going on we're surrounded by old people!" Toph asked clinging to Sokka.

"Not just any old people theses are masters of the elements and swords." Katara grinned. You smiled into Zuko's shoulder. We all introduced ourselves before they all looked at you. You hadn't said a word.

"Oh, I'm (YN) (LN). The avatar." You greeted bowing to everyone to your surprise the all bowed back.

"So you all know each other?" You asked.

"All old people know each other! Don't you know that!" Bumi snorted again. Soon you were being launched into the air by earth bending. Bumi cackled his way through the air while you just flew in the air freaking out.  You caught yourself with earth bending as well. You were in the back of the group listening to Bumi ell of how he escape Omashu. You walked in the back behind Appa holding hands with Zuko.

"What's going to happen?" You asked, quiet and scared.

"You and Aang will defeat my father. I will take the throne after you me and Katara take out Azula. You and I will get married have 3 kids, and rule the fire nation in peace." Zuko said smiling at the thought of it.

"Who says I will marry you?" You teased.

"You can't resist me. I'm HOT." Zuko grinned making you laugh. You heard Bumi ask a question and didn't respond only focusing on how  the moonlight made Zuko's golden eyes even more intense of a color. Another part of you was ripped away. Aang I know you need spirit advice but can you not do it in a painful way? You thought. You kept walking ignoring the sear of the missing piece. You walked with Zuko into Iroh's tent hearing his loud snores. Zuko inhaled sharply but sat down. You sat next him, laying your head in his lap. Zuko lazily ran his fingers through your hair soothing you to sleep.

You woke up because your comfortable head rest was jerked away from you. You yelped in surprise.

"Hey!" You whined rubbing the back of your head. You heard Iroh chuckle. "Iroh!" You cried in surprise leaping to hug him. He hugged you back. You felt tears prick your eyes but ignored them.

"Still being the muse of my nephews life?" Iroh chuckled you only hummed in response.

"He's already decided I'm marrying him and having 3 kids so yeah I  would say so." You smiled.

After the touching moment you all sat in a circle eating.

"Uncle your the only person that can defeat the fire lord. I am not letting (YN) go on her own. You have to help her." Zuko pleaded. You scoffed but didn't disagree.

"No. The people would only see it as a violent act of one brother killing the other. This is something they must do alone, for this war to end peacefully anyways." Iroh spoke. You furrowed your brow a little. "I also cannot take the throne only you Zuko can take the throne."

"And I will be there to help you. Through everything." You smiled at him as he kissed your forehead. Your stomach was in knots as you Zuko and Katara left on Appa to go and face Azula who was most likely spazzing out right now. You always knew she was unstable, but were you ready to deal with that instability?
