The Fall of Ozai (Zuko x Reader)

The Ember Island Players (My favorite!)

Laying around Ember island was amazing. Just a small vacation while Sozin's comet was a little ways away.  Helping Aang learn fire bending was fun too. He often watches you and Zuko spar, he doesn't go easy on you either and you like that about him.  You sat on the edge of the courtyard watching and getting distracted by your shirtless boyfriend who was doing some complicated fire bending forms with Aang. Once they finished Sokka and Suki came racing into the clearing. Sokka ran over to Toph lifting her from her spot where she was laying on the ground and spinning her around.

 "There is a PLAY about us!" Sokka explained lifting Toph onto his shoulders. IT was good to see them acting all coupley.

"We were in town and found a poster! It's by the ember island players!" Suki exclaimed just as excited as Sokka was.

"The boy in the iceberg is produced by a ton of research they did. They talked to singing nomads, pirates and the cabbage guy we keep running into in Ba Sing Se." Sokka explained. You laughed at the cabbage guy part.

As we walked up to our seats laughing and joking you watched as Zuko sat next to Kat and Aang protest. You sighed.

"How about I sit next to her instead." You smiled and plopped down next to the water bender.

"I can't see anything!" Toph complained.

"Don't worry love. I will tell you what's going on." Sokka whispered sweetly. I looked at Katara and could that she and I both were having fangirl attacks. It opened up to see Kat and Sokka on a boat.

"All I want is a full feeling in my stomach! I'm starving!" The guy that played Sokka exclaimed after 'Kat' gave a sappy speech. I couldn't help but giggle at that. They had Sokka pretty much nailed to a T. 'Katara' went on again about how food was the only thing he thought of.  "I want it outta my mind and into my stomach! I'm starving!" 'Sokka' went on again. This time you and Toph couldn't hold back your laughter.

"I think they've got you pegged!" Toph exclaimed through her giggles. The chick that played Katara started sobbing over hope. You looked at her to her looking startled and annoyed.

"I don't sound like that." Katara pouted. Suki, Sokka, and Toph broke out into another fit of giggles.  We watched as they discovered Aang and when a girl leapt from the 'ice' Aang looked really confused. You broke out into laughter. Suddenly Appa jumped out sounding like a vicious dog making you laugh even harder.

"I. Am. Not. A. Girl!" Aang protested. Suddenly a fire nation made it's way on stage and there stood 'Zuko', 'Iroh', and 'You'. The actress playing you was actually really pretty, considering how the rest of them looked you were kinda shocked.

"I MUST REGAIN MY HONOR! I CANNOT STUFF MY FACE!" 'Zuko' shouted. You broke out laughing as you responded.

"For the last time YOU HAVE ALWAYS HAD YOUR HONOR!" '(YN)' shouted making you laugh pretty hard.

"They make me stiff and humorless. But (YN)'s actually pretty spot on." Zuko protested but teased you with the last part. You giggled laying your head on his shoulder.

"It's a flying rabbit monkey! I will name him Mo Mo!" The Aang chick giggled. You smiled. When 'Suki' came on stage and 'Sokka' started talking about his butt you and Suki laughed.  Then came the pirates and more sobbing over hope. Then it cut to when Zuko captured Aang and you came to his rescue with 'the blue spirit' .

"I will save you Aang! Zuko must realize he ALWAYS HAD HIS HONOR. YOU MUST BE FREED!" 'You' screamed at the girl playing Aang with 'the blue spirit' by your side.  One they were saved the actress playing Aang gave you a kiss on the cheek making the 3 of you cast each other uncomfortable looks.  It got a little personal when the whole Jetara scene came up and 'you' had freaked out and sent him to Lake Lou Gai. Sokka got all teary eyed when it came to Yue and Suki just laughed it off.

During the intermission we all began to share our thought s on the play so far.

"This intermission is the best thing so far." Zuko commented. You just laughed. "Hey! At least the person who plays you captures your beauty a little! I mean Aang's a WOMAN!" Zuko protested making you  laugh even harder.

"I'm sorry guys it's just amazing to see you all up there sobbing over hope, complaining over being hungry, as a chick, and being stiff and humorless. Then there is stage me who is more or less 100% correct. I mean I spent 75% of those years hunting Aang yelling at Zuko to get his act together." You mused. Everyone was kinda stunned. Zuko held your hand you as you and the Gaang made the way back to the seats. Now you were in the earth kingdom. A guy burst open from under the stage.

"My name is Toph cause it sounds like tough!" The burly man on stage yelled. You all broke out into laughter.

"Is that a GUY? THAT'S AMAZING! It's a lot better than a flying bald lady!" Toph exclaimed laughing.

"I don't see the way you do, I see everything anyways. I release a sonic wave from my mouth." The guy Toph explained before letting out this amazing screech. You laughed so hard you cried at that. When 'Zuko' came back on stage he had wild unruly hair.

"We need to talk Zuko. ABOUT YOUR HAIR." The man playing Iroh said. 'Zuko' flipped his hair in response before walking off stage. Zuko looked shocked. You ruffled his hair smiling at him till he returned the gesture since you wear your hair down all the time now.

"HEY LOOK IT'S YOUR HONOR!" The girl playing Azula shouted when you and everyone else surrounded her.

"Wait where?" 'Zuko' shouted. The actress playing you face palmed. When they filmed Jet's death (That you didn't know about) everyone looked at you guiltily.

"My brother died. under a rock. I mean I knew he was dead, I never knew how." You trailed all traces of smiling happiness gone.  When stage Katara started proclaiming love to Zuko you were pretty shocked. Zuko moved closer to you while Katara slid away. Aang looked pretty defensive.  Stage you came crashing into the room and looked hurt.

"Zuko? What are you doing? I thought...we...us?" Stage you stuttered. Stage Zuko laughed in stage (YN)'s face.

"I could never love someone like you." Stage Zuko yelled. Katara met your gaze and glanced at Zuko who tensed up before wrapping you in his arms.

But it all kinda came crashing down when Zuko said he hated his uncle and chose stage Azula. That's when every bit of happiness vanished. You could see Zuko upset that you weren't happy anymore but didn't pay any attention to it. When Azula killed Aang on stage everyone was upset. During the next intermission you and Zuko sat together waiting for Katara to appear with Aang. You yawned sleepily leaning into Zuko while he nuzzled the top of your head. That was when a kid came running past as Aang.

"Your Zuko costumes pretty great but your scar's on the wrong side. And your (YN) costume, well you look fine." The kid flirted with you. You laughed and snuggled closer to Zuko. "Oh, you ship (YN) and Zuko together? They would never work. I mean (YN)'s a broken mess hidden behind a brave façade and Zuko is a honorable fire nation traitor hidden behind a scar." And with that the kid ran off. You and Zuko made eye contact. 

"He isn't half wrong." You said making a face.

"Well broken mess or not. I think you are perfect." Zuko said sweetly. You watched Toph make gagging motions.

When the play started up again Aang was sitting behind you and Katara looked unhappy. After the invasion Zuko and Azula were battling on stage. But when Azula was about to killed Zuko off the actress that played you leapt in front of him and died. Zuko's eyes widened and so did yours. You looked at him and he kissed you lightly tightening his grip on you. When stage Ozai killed Aang you all exchanged panicked looks as the crowds stood in cheers. On the way home you all walked saying how awful it was.

"The effects were decent." Sokka said awkwardly.
