Riley was over the top excited for the grid dinner she was on her way to. She was riding in a car with Logan, Lily Z, and Oscar. He had chose where they were eating that night with being from the area. Riley was sitting in the backseat with Logan, keeping up a conversation that they started at the hotel. The topic being none other than Arthur Leclerc.
Riley needed input on what was going on between the two of them. She thought it felt wrong, she knew it felt wrong. It was like a bomb went off between them over night. From the moment Riley found out about him and Julia everything started to plummet into the ground. Riley and Arthur were still there for each other when it was needed, and sex. But even that was becoming a rarer occurrence.
"I just don't know where the sudden change came from" Riley told him as they pulled up outside the restaurant, "Like I love him still of course, but it's like a roller coaster, we're up and then we're down the next second" She explained to him.
"I don't know Rye," Logan said, "I guess just see where it goes" He tells her, following her out of the car, "If it gets any worse call it off"
"I don't want to break up with him though" She sighed, "I just want things to change"
"Then tell him that"
"We've already talked" Riley tells him, heading towards the restaurant, "He said it wouldn't happen again"
"Okay so believe him when he says that" Logan suggests, walking through the door Riley was holding open for him.
"Do you think somethings wrong though?" Riley just wasn't sure if there was something else going on.
"I think you're going to start looking too far into it" He told her all while following her to a large table that everyone was seated at.
Riley took one of the only free spots that were left after showing up later than expected. She sat in-between Daniel and Lando originally, but somehow, somewhere along the lines Max took Lando's spot and she ended up next to him.
Riley didn't see this as a problem, but with everything between her and Arthur lately she felt like she should've asked Daniel to swap seats with her. But she didn't want to create a awkward tension between the two of them. And really, Riley didn't mind being around Max, she enjoyed it. It wasn't like they were alone either, there were 19 other driver's around them.
"Where's Kelsey?" Riley asked Max, noticing she wasn't seated anywhere at the table.
"Probably in Spain, or France" He said, "I don't keep a tracker on her"
"You don't know what country she's in?" Riley laughed, looking at her menu when she already knew what she was getting.
"We're nearly never in the same country" He told her, "I don't mind, she can reach out if she needs me"
"Is she coming to the race?" Riley asked curiously, setting her menu down to look at him. She watched as he struggled to avoid eye contact with her, which almost made Riley break into a smile.
He was still waiting.
"Nope"
"Ava told me to wish you luck" She added, looking away from him, "She said she's going to try and watch the race"
"She still watches them?" He asked her surprised, finally looking in her direction.
"Yeah," Riley nodded, "She watches the reruns mainly, but if it's at a reasonable time she'll watch it live"
"It'll be like 1 in the morning your time won't it?"
"That's why I said try" She emphasized, "She loves watching you race though"
