"We're back!" Riley said loudly when she walked into her house. Max was trailing behind her like a lost puppy, holding onto the hem of her shirt. They were both entirely drenched and freezing from the pouring rain outside. They made a run from Riley's car to the building after she drove Max 10 minutes away to drop his car off.
"I thought we were sneaking in" Max said, about to walk to her room but Riley was heading to the kitchen.
"We've been gone all morning" Riley said, "We should say hi at least"
"He'll be here later" Max stayed put, assuming Riley would follow, "We saw him last night"
"You saw him last night" She emphasized, "I saw him for 2 minutes before we locked ourselves away again" She told him, feeling her heart beat faster when Max wrapped his arms over her shoulders. "We cannot stay stuck in the honeymoon phase again"
"We could"
"Maybe on an actual honeymoon" She started waddling backwards with him, trying to exit the hallway.
"There's no issues in the honeymoon phase" Max said, giving into Riley and walking with her willingly.
"Staying in it isn't realistic" She looked up at him, "It would be nice though"
"I almost thought you were staying over at Max's apartment today" Daniel said when Max and Riley entered the kitchen.
"That was definitely a debate topic" Riley said, immediately walking to her coffee kemix. "Do you guys want coffee?"
"I'm fine Rye" Max said, looking down at the kitten that crossed between his legs.
"Dan?"
"No I'm alright"
"More for me I guess" Riley mumbled, starting to fill a kettle with water to boil.
"I'm assuming that you two coming in together means you've officially made up?" Daniel asked the both of them, but the question was more so directed towards Max.
"We're fine" Max told him, "We started discussing kid names"
"I gave you ONE name!" Riley exclaimed with an amused look on her face.
"We still discussed it" Max defended watching as Riley shook her head subtly, "What?"
"I don't want people to get the wrong impression when you say that" She told him, "I don't want more rumors out that we're expecting"
"It's just Daniel"
"Still"

Riley was at her house on Sunday morning, carrying a new light with her. After everything with Max had finally been resolved her stress was lifted from her shoulders. She had a nonstop smile on her face while she walked to the front door, opening it to a flower shop's delivery man.
"Wow" Riley said, taking the large box from him, "Do I sign anything?"
"Non"
"Okayy, merci" Riley said, kicking the door closed behind her excitedly.
Riley carried the box into the kitchen, meeting Daniel with a large smile, she already knew there were flowers inside. But these were the first flowers Riley had gotten from Max since they had sex on her boat. They were glued by the hip the entire day after, which steered Daniel far away from the house. Riley and Max locked themselves in her room all day long.
"I wonder what that could be" Daniel said sarcastically, feeling relieved that her and Max were back together now.
It was going to stay that way. There was nothing else to worry about. Sort of.
