Chapter 29- How did it end?

Lando dropped Riley off at her condo. He let her walk inside alone, and was debating on whether or not he should leave or follow her inside. Riley was alone in her condo for about 10 minutes until Lando walked through the door she left unlocked. He could hear her quiet sob through her closed bedroom door. He sat down in the living room, answering a few texts from Daniel and Max who were asking what happened. They left almost immediately after, it was that or Arthur wasn't going to see the light of tomorrow when Max heard exactly what had happened in the same vicinity as him.

"Mom?" Riley said over the phone, feeling her chest rise and fall quickly as Samantha's worried voice took over the speaker.

"Riley what happened" Samantha asked quickly. She's heard Riley cry many times, but she felt the pain in her sobs. She could hear the way Riley could barely breath.

'Is that Riley?' Ava said on the other line, wanting to talk to her if it was.

"Mom can I come home early" Riley asked, sitting on the floor with her back pressed against her bed. She took in a fast breath, feeling her hands shake. Riley thought she was home alone, she hadn't realized Lando was outside on her couch. "I told Toto I can't play in New York anymore; I just want to see you guys"

"What did he do" Samantha asked Riley, knowing that cry was the cause of something Arthur had done. Samantha had just finished crying over a man herself.

"He cheated on me" Riley broke out, letting her sobs pour when Daniel got back home. He brought Max with him. No one knew who Riley was going to want to talk to at the moment. She would've called Tristen, but he's gone. She would had feverishly called her cousin, Josh, but he had the baby to worry about. Arthur was the topic and she wasn't planning on talking to him.

She didn't want to talk to Max about this.

"With Julia" Riley clarified, "At a fucking party too"

"Where are you now honey" Samantha asked over the phone, wanting to know that she wasn't still there.

"I'm at home" She said, "In my room. I told him it was over"

"Good" Samantha said, turning to Ava and telling her to go do something for a moment. "Don't you dare go back to him" She said, "You'll end up pregnant or someone else will and you don't want to deal with that"

"I don't even want him back" Riley cried, "I just want to know why he did it" She tried taking deep breaths when her mom told her to, tried reminding herself that her and Arthur were bound to break at some point. Their relationship started off as a secret, there was always going to be secrets between the two of them.

"Riley come home early" Samantha told her, "Your room is still here with everything in it, Ava and Sloan miss you. When were you flying out originally?"

"In 2 nights" Riley said, "To New York though"

"Okay I'll buy you a plane ticket from JFK to Miami"

"Okay" Riley huffed, wiping her face from tears that just continued to pour. "Can you tell Ava I'll be back early"

"I will" Samantha nodded, seeing Ava sat on the couch watching Pretty Little Liars, that was Samantha's doing. Once she found out Mike had an affair, and got someone else pregnant, she needed to find something to distract herself. She chose that, and Ava was glued to her side when Riley wasn't around. "I'll let you go hun, make sure you get something to eat"

"I'll see what we have in the kitchen" Riley said nearly inaudible, it came out as a whisper when she was trying to steady her breathing. "Bye mom"

"We'll talk more when you get back Rye" Her mom reassured her before they both said 'I love you' and hung up.
