Riley watched the race in Bahrain and stayed in the general area until the race weekend in Saudi Arabia. She had her own room for the weekend while Arthur was sharing with Charles. It gave them a little more space that Riley was enjoying, but Arthur hated. He considered it a living hell not having her next to him at night. But Riley didn't mind it at all.
Riley was in her hotel room, getting ready for the first day of practice when she heard a knock on the door. She knew that it couldn't have been Arthur, he had the second key to her room. He would've let himself in. Riley heard the knock again, eventually forming into a beat on her door.
She walked over quietly and slowly, ready to call Arthur if it was someone random. Riley nervously looked through the peephole and a smile overtook her face.
"Riley open the damn door" Susan groaned from the hallway, "We're going to be late"
Riley opened the door quickly, attacking Susan with a hug immediately. Susan let go of the suitcase she was holding beside her, planning on staying in Riley's room for the weekend.
"What are you doing here?" Riley asked into the hug, feeling a piece of home with her.
"Ollie invited me" Susan said, pulling away from the hug at the same time as Riley. "He said he wanted me to watch his race or whatever"
"So you're back on good terms?" She asked her, letting Susan into the room, just to set down her bags before they walked into the hallway.
"We're just friends," Susan told her, "But yes"
"Where are you watching from?" Riley asked her, walking down the hallway to the elevator that would take them down a singular floor.
"There's tv's in the f2 paddocks"
"No way he invited you across the world to watch him race from his paddocks as 'just friends'" Riley laughed, stepping into the elevator once it opened.
"You're real funny thinking I'll forgive so easy" Susan said with a scoff, following behind Riley before the doors closed.
"Well you're here aren't you?" Riley pointed out, seeing Susan roll her eyes.
"As friends" She emphasized again.
Together Riley and Susan entered the lobby. Riley already had a car pulled up outside for her. Susan must have overheard because she followed Riley through the doors into the car, waiting to be taken around the corner to the tracks.
They whispered quietly as they were being driven around town. They tried not to speak loudly and disturb the driver, but there was no shutting Riley and Susan up. It was like two sisters reuniting. They had things to catch up on. Susan and Ollie, Riley and Arthur, how things are at JC's; Tristen.
Although Susan seemed to be dancing around the bushes whenever Tristen came up in conversation. It was nearly like she was told not to say anything to Riley.
"How's everything with Arthur?" Susan asked Riley instead as they started walking towards the paddocks where's they'd have to split.
"It's good" Riley said, "We had a bumpy moment, but we worked through it and everything's back to normal" She smiled at the thought.
"What kind of bumpy moment?"
"I'll tell you tonight," She promised, "It's a lot for right now"
"Perfect, I'll catch you in a bit" Susan said as they parted ways.
Riley had her paddock pass in hand as she scanned it. She put it on around her neck as she walked through the large luxurious paddocks. Riley knew exactly where she was going from the year prior. Although, this time she wasn't going to Williams garage. She was going to Ferrari's.
