Riley was getting ready for Pascale's birthday dinner as planned. She was nervous. Riley loved Pascale but couldn't stand Arthur. She wasn't up to date on the terms of their relationship. Pascale thought that Riley was giving him another chance. But Riley had already moved on, but no one knew that yet. Some people were speculating after a few photos of her and Max got out the day prior. But there was nothing to confirm their suspicions.

"Riles" Daniel said knocking on her bedroom door. "Arthur's here"

"Tell him I'll be out in a minute" Riley said, trying to smooth out the ruffles in her dress. It was long and flowy, more formal than her usual going out dress.

"He said to take your time" Daniel told her, "And I signed the papers, I'll give them to the relator tomorrow morning"

"Oh so you want it" Riley said while rushing to the door excitedly to open it. "I wasn't sure if you would because it only has 3 bedrooms"

"I looked at the photos online" Daniel told her, "And Max said it was the only one you liked"

"It was the only one with a marbled kitchen" Riley said, looking at the outfit he was wearing. He had a nice dress shirt on and a pair of black slacks. "Where are you going?"

"I'm going to dinner with Max" He told her, seeing her face drop slightly.

"Oh tell him I said hi" She forced a smile on her face. Riley would rather have dinner with Max than eat with the entirety of Arthur's family.

"Riley what's going on between you and Max" Daniel stopped her from walking out of her room.

"Nothing" Riley lied, too many people knew already. Jade, Sloan, Lando, Holden technically knew but he didn't know it was a secret. Heidi knew. Susan knew. "We're just friends you know that"

"But you know he's waiting for you" Daniel said, walking with her in the hallway. "You're leading him on"

"I'm not"

"If you don't see anything in your guys future you have to let him go"

"Daniel it's complicated" Riley told him, staying stood in the kitchen before she walked outside to meet Arthur. "I'm not leading him on"

"You're cheating on Arthur" He told her, "I can see it written on your face every time you're near Max"

"I am not cheating!" Riley exclaimed shocked. "It's a lot but we're just friends"

"I don't know if you're trying to get him back though" Daniel was referring to Arthur cheating. That wasn't her intentions at all. Sure she'd love sweet revenge, but using Max to get that? It wasn't a plan in her book.

"I'll see you later Dan" Riley told him, heading towards the front door.

Riley opened the door to see both Max and Arthur standing outside. They were dead silent standing up straight waiting for Riley to open the door. They didn't speak a word to each other at all. Their eyes both went to Riley, but only one of them was speechless.

"You look great Rye" Max told her, sliding in the door past her, giving her a formal kiss on her cheek before Arthur stole her for the night.

"Thanks" Riley smiled, feeling his hand brush against her side before she walked away.

Max closed the door behind him, leaving her alone with Arthur in the hallway. Arthur looked like he was ready to throw daggers at Max. Riley hooked her arm with his, ready to play pretend the whole night. Arthur pressed a small kiss to Riley's cheek as they walked down the hallway, keeping her somewhat close to him as they went to the elevator.
