Race day. Riley and Max had spent most of their time in their hotel room when not at the tracks. Riley didn't want to run into Arthur and neither did Max. They stayed at the tracks for the time necessary and that was it. Riley was glued to Max's garage, only ever coming in contact with Daniel and Logan. Max had been avoiding Lando like the plague, they only saw eachother during media and conferences.

Riley was walking around 10 feet behind Max in the paddocks. He was already in his racing suit, ready to head onto the tracks. She was giving him his space as usual when his team was surrounding him. She stopped walking when Oscar called her name, standing outside his garage.

"You need to get a leash for your boyfriend" He motioned for her come inside the Mclaren garage as she laughed.

"A leash?" She followed him in his bright orange garage. "I don't think he's into that"

"He started a bar fight" Oscar told her, still seeing nothing but a smile on her face. "Lando was ready to start swinging if Max went towards him after Arthur"

"I think I should sign him up for some boxing classes or something" She told Oscar, feeling stiff in the Mclaren garage. Riley didn't want to look at anything, so her eyes were glued to Oscar's. She felt like she shouldn't touch anything in fears she'd be accused of sabotage.

Max Verstappen was the number one driver on Red Bull, reigning world champion, and Mclaren's biggest rival at the moment. Everyone in there knew who Riley was, the tension was at an all time high.

"Riley," Oscar started to get more serious, "You didn't hear the things that Arthur said last night. I know Logan said you plan on settling down with Max, but on the off chance something happens; you cannot go back to Arthur"

"I'm not" She agreed with Oscar, "He's disgusting, I mean, I didn't deserve half the things he did to me"

"The situations rubbish"

"There's no situation" Riley said, she didn't have any romantic feelings towards Arthur anymore. "Oscar I'm so in love right now" She whispered, feeling like she was finally confessing it without being judged. "So in love. I can't picture my life with anyone else and I've never felt this way before I'm freaking out" Riley started to speak faster the more she got off her chest. And Oscar listened. He always listened to her. "Everyone keeps saying we're moving fast," She took in a deep breath, "But I feel like it's the perfect pace for us"

"As long as you feel it's right, that's all that matters"

"He asked me my ring size Osc" She whispered like it was her deepest and darkest secret.

"When?" Oscar asked loudly, looking over his shoulder to make sure no one was alarmed. "Holy shit Riles," He was wider eyed.

"After my birthday" She smiled largely, feeling butterflies in her stomach, "I really think I found the one for me and-" Riley paused when she began feeling emotional. Oscar put his arms around her, while she finished talking , "I really didn't think that would happen"

"Don't cry" Oscar laughed, not seeing but knowing there must've been tears in her eyes.

"I love Max so much" Riley put her arms around Oscar's waist, feeling one tear roll down her cheek. A happy tear, something she hasn't cried in years. "I'm really scared it won't work out"

"Oh Riley" Oscar kept laughing at her when she sniffled, "Don't even put that out there"

"He's coming to a wedding with my entire family this week" She nodded to Oscar's previous statement, pulling away from him. "I think I'm going to tell my parents how I feel at least"
