Riley slowly started to accept the pregnancy as the time passed by. She had her first bit of alone time in her hotel room when Max was at the tracks for media day. It gave her a moment to really let it all sink in without crying. She wasn't showing the excitement that kept creeping up on her every other 15 minutes. The fear of what people would say was still over powering that.

But her conversation with Max the night prior started to sooth that all.

"Your birthdays soon" Riley told Max in the car with a smile on her face as they headed towards the chosen restaurant for the night. "How old are you turning again... like 40?"

"You're so funny" Max said dryly, glancing over at her briefly before her hand entered his.

"27" She said softly, "That's crazy"

"It feels the same as turning 25" He told her, kissing her hand gently, "Trust me it doesn't feel special"

"Well what do you want" Riley asked him, pulling his hand to her lips, kissing his knuckles repeatedly. "If you could have anything in the world, what would it be"

"Riley I already have everything I need" Max said, taking his hand from hers and putting it on her thigh.

"Okay don't give me that bullshit" She laughed, pulling his hand higher on her thigh, "What do you want"

"To do something with you" He told her, squeezing her leg gently. "Anything, I don't care"

"No you need to give me an idea" She begged him, "I was going to plan this big thing and never got the chance"

"Good, I would've made you cancel it all anyways" He glanced over at her, "I just want to stay in, maybe go on the yacht, but other than that I need a low-key day that's just me and you"

"Okay" She nodded, "We can do that instead"

"Next year we might have to celebrate yours on a different day" Max said, her birthday and the Canadian Grand Prix crossed over. "I have the race in Canada"

"Oh" She said, knowing she wouldn't be able to attend that race next year. "Well that's not for another  9 months- let's talk about yours"

"Okay, let's talk" He said, "Me and you on the yacht, dock down to grab dinner and spend the night aboard"

"Yeah Maxie if that's what you want" She nodded, thinking maybe then she could tell Max about the pregnancy. It would give her enough time to get her own thoughts in order. "I can get a cake too"

"I can't eat cake right now" He told her, "I have a strict diet to follow"

"Max what if we celebrate twice" Riley suggested, looking out the window, "I know Daniel wanted to do something with you, maybe we can do it the day before and have everyone over for drinks- we can do it at my house"

"That's fine with me" He told her, "As long as Arthur's not there"

"If you could have cake what would you like" Riley changed conversation directions. She didn't want to talk about Arthur, she didn't want to hear any complaints, or start any arguments. There wasn't a point.

"Surprise me"

"Just answer the damn question" She groaned, throwing her head back, squealing when his hand disappeared under her dress. It stayed there for a few seconds, not doing anything but resting on her thigh until he pulled it out. "You are such a tease"
