Riley was in her kitchen with Max after talking all night long. The both of them continued disagreeing on whether or not Riley should stay in America. But she would be in Monza for the race, Riley promised she wasn't going to miss a race after the break. And she was going to keep that.It wasn't until Samantha got involved that Max dropped it. She didn't butt her way into the conversation, but Logan's mom gave her a call telling her what happened. Everyone knew Riley was in town, his mom wanted to know if she was staying. So Samantha suggested it, there was nothing Max could do at that point.
Max was waiting on his Uber to show up to leave for Monza while Riley was falling apart in his arms. She was convinced this would be the last time he held her. Riley was talking to him, trying to re-explain why she needed to stay in America the extra two days. Which Max still wasn't happy about.
"Can I have a kiss before you go?" Riley asked when she saw his car pull up from the window. Max nodded and pressed a kiss against her lips, holding the sides of her face, Riley had her hands under his shirt, holding his sides as she stayed pressed to his chest. "And that's for me babe"
"What do you mean" He said, trying his best to ignore her glossy eyes that were looking up at him.
"Your kiss" She told him, looking at the freckle on his top lip. "Just me"
"I know that" He laughed, giving her another, feeling her tears transfer onto his skin.
"Don't kiss anyone else" She said, starting to pull back from Max slowly, "I love you"
"I love you too Riley"

Riley slowly started feeling better after Max had gone. They agreed not to reach out to each other unless it was before or after a flight. To let each other know the other has took off or landed. They agreed to use the next two day's as the 'space' they were initially going for but kept failing to give each other. Their issues had been non-stop chatting.
Riley was at JC's, standing behind the bar as usual working the morning shift with Kevin, Tristen, Macy, Samantha and a few other employees she hadn't met yet. Riley was filling out a new order sheet of supplies they needed for the race weekend, different cases of beer, another order of food supplies because Kevin didn't place enough with the last. Riley honestly felt like Kevin had been doing a terrible job of running the store. Everything felt like it had been moved around in the office, people weren't doing everything they were supposed to.
It felt lazy.
"So" Samantha said, walking up to the bar top while customers started getting seated around them.
"Yes?" Riley asked, not looking up from her sheet at all.
"Do you miss him yet?" She asked, noticing a small smiling that tried to form on Riley's lips before it faded.
"Just a little" She lied, "But I'm enjoying not being attached at the hip and flying around right now"
"What time does his flight land?"
"Some time tonight" She told Samantha, noticing Macy lurking when she walked up to the bar nervously "He said he'd text me when he landed"
"Okay" Samantha nodded, she heard the bits and pieces of arguing coming from Riley's room all night yesterday. "Is everything alright between you two?"
