As you slammed your text book shut, you lifted yourself from your seat, leaving your bedroom and walking across the hall.

"Shut up I'm studying" you said angrily to your brother, Nate.
"Ok" he replied calmly.
"Who are you even talking to?" You looked at the room confused until you saw Matt pop up, holding a charger.

"Found it" he began to plug the controller in, giving you a sly wink as he saw you looking at him.
"Bro go study" Nate laughed, throwing a pillow at you.

As you went back to your revising you heard Nate say, "water or soda?" And his footsteps receding.
Discreetly, you made your way into Nate's room, where Matt was sat on his bed.

"Hey gorgeous" the boy smiled at you as you straddled his lap, giving him a soft kiss while you fixed his hair.
"Hi" you smiled softly as you rested your head in his chest for a minute.

"I want to hang out with you" Matt complained, "alone" you looked up at him, "don't get me wrong I love Nate but I need to see you".
"Don't worry I feel the same" you sighed before standing up when you realised Nate could come back any second.

You pressed a quick kiss onto Matt's face before walking back into your room.
"Get out of here as soon as you can" you looked at him hopefully, "and then meet me somewhere, ok?"

Matt nodded, "see you later my love" but you couldn't reply after seeing your brother's head appear from the bottom of the stairs.

Scared he heard, you quietly ran into your room, listening from the door to see if Nate said anything.
And luckily he didn't.
You could add that to the countless times he had nearly caught you and Matt together. 

The only reason you hadn't told him about you two is because you were scared, neither you or Matt wanted to jeopardise your relationships with Nate, which were both close.
You and Nate had always been best friends, other than the inevitable sibling bickering, you always got on.

Quickly finishing the last of your equations you got ready, awaiting another text from Matt.

Earlier when he was telling you to get ready and set off ten minutes before he did so it wouldn't look too obvious, which seemed like a solid plan.

As you sat on the bench, your phone pinged once more.

Matt 🤍
Look up, sweetheart

You did to find him walking towards you and you both smiled as you made eye contact.
When he got close enough you stood up to greet him with a "hi" but was met with a passionate kiss.

His smile widened as you took eachother's hand, beginning to walk as you spoke about random things.

After a good half an hour of walking around, you began to grow hungry, needing a snack.
Matt soon noticed this- after your stomach embarrassingly growled loudly, and you began walking to the shop.

"Do you want some takis to share?" He asked, holding the bag up, looking for the price.
"Sure let me just get a drink, which one do you want?"
"I'll have a coke" a voice behind you said as you froze.

You and Matt turned to see Nate stood behind you.
"What's happening?" He asked, genuinely confused.
"What do you mean?" You nervously laughed, looking at Matt with a face that was asking for help.

"What I mean is why are you here shopping? Together? Y/n you were revising and Matt, I thought you had to head home".

"Can we talk about this outside?" You requested quietly as you saw people begin to look in your direction.
Nate just gave you a small nod before turning to the exit, "I'll be outside".

"What are we gonna do?" You turned to look at Matt as you swiped your things on the register at the self checkout.
"I mean" Matt started slowly, "we could just tell him we ran into each other?
But to be fair I think it's time we told him"

You nodded you head slowly before Matt saying, "look, whatever happens won't affect me and you, ok?" He gave your cheek a gentle kiss before collecting your items and getting them into a bag.
"Can you do the talking?" You groaned.

But despite your initial thoughts, Nate was fine with it.
He completely understood the fact that we kept it a secret from him and even said he supports the two of you and then he did his "tough big brother" speech about hurting you, blah blah blah, everything was all good.
