Chapter 66 - Vacation

Rome, Italy (Day 1) :

After a long flight Elliot and Marco finally reach Rome, Italy. The flight lands at Rome Fiumicino Airport and they get off the plane. It's evening time here and none of them has anymore energy left in their bodies so they quickly books a cab and heads towards their hotel.

In the hotel :

Elliot sits on the sofa with the kids while Marco goes to the reception. "Bun venit la Roma, domnule. (Welcome to Rome, sir.)"  the receptionist greets him. "Uh, thanks."  Marco responses. He then takes the key and they enters in the elevator. "I'm so fucking tired right now."  Elliot mumbles. "I know baby. Let's take a nap first."  Marco says. The lift stops at the seventeenth floor. "Let's go."  Marco opens the room's door and they enters. The room is so beautiful with a mesmerizing view of the city from their balcony. The kids are already sleeping so Elliot just puts them on the bed and immediately lies next to them. "Don't wake me up before dinner."  he says. Marco takes off their shoes and lies down immediately.

Two hours later:

Marco awakes hearing his phone rings. Elliot is still sleeping like a doll. Siya and Eleanor are also awake now. "Yes ma, we are safe."  Marco says in the call. He looks back at Elliot and smiles. "Yeah he's fine."  he says. He cuts the call and enters the bathroom. Suddenly Elliot wakes up and starts sweating. He takes a deep breath looking around. "Baby are you okay?"  Marco asks. He comes and sits on the bed. "Uhm.. I saw a bad dream."  Elliot replies. Marco kisses his forehead. "It's okay you're safe."  he comforts him. Elliot nods. "Now get up and come with me."  Marco stands up. "Where?"  Elliot asks. "To explore this place."  Marco replies. He wears the white shirt and black jeans and Elliot wears his favourite grey tshirt with black jeans and gets out of their room.

In the pool side:

"Mum.."  Siya points towards a light and tries to touch it. "Here you go."  Marco comes with mocktails and sits next him. "No, you're not having it baby. You're too small now."  Elliot says stopping Siya from drinking it. "So, are you enjoying here?"  Marco asks. Elliot sips his drink. "Yes and you?"  he looks at him. "I enjoy every moment when I'm with you baby."  Marco replies. Elliot sips his drink blushing so hard. He looks up and sees the moon. "What are you thinking?"  Marco asks. "Look, there are no dark clouds around the moon but it feels like the moon is alone."  Elliot says. "I'm sorry but I don't understand what you are saying."  Marco says back. Just as Elliot looks at him to explain his feelings a voice comes from behind.

"Marco? What a pleasant surprise!"  a lady says. "Nancy? OMG!"  Marco smiles at her. Elliot silently looks at them as they hugs each other. "Oh meet my hubby, the love of my life. My Elliot."  Marco introces him. Nancy looks at him. "Yeah I know him, nice to meet you dear."  she says. Elliot just smiles. "El, meet Nancy. She was my classmate at tenth standard."  Marco says. "Can you believe we are meeting after freaking so many years? Oh God I think I'll cry now."  Nancy again hugs him. Marco notice Elliot's expression and immediately breaks the hug. "Are these kids are yours? Aww they are so cute."  Nancy says. Elliot sighs. "Babe we are already late so, let's go for dinner."  he says. "Oh don't worry the manager is my friend."  Nancy interrupts. "Come with me I'll arrange everything."  she holds Marco's arm and walks away. "God, I'm in no mood to kill anyone, so please give me some patience."   Elliot mumbles and follows them.

At the dinner table:

Elliot and Marco are sitting next to each other where Nancy is in their opposite. The kids are sitting in a separate chair next to Elliot. "Hey you remember when we bunked the maths class and went for ice cream date? It was so fun isn't?"  Nancy says. "Yeah that was."  Marco says back. Elliot is silent and just listening their nonsense. "I still the miss the old us. How we used to hang out and travel."  Nancy holds Marco's hand. Instead of looking at his husband Elliot looks at her. She notice him and removes her hand. Elliot's one stare is enough to give her chills. He holds his hand just right after that. "Uh.. Elliot, what do you do? I mean what's your profession?"  Nancy asks. "I'm just handling the family business."  Elliot replies. "Oh means you're a manager right?"  Nancy asks. "No, I'm the CEO!" Elliot replies. Marco smiles looking at him.

Nancy sips the water and nods. "And you? What do you do apart from this?"  Elliot asks looking at her hand. "I'm an interior designer, right now working here for a client."  Nancy replies. "Nice all the best."  Elliot smiles. "Well it's nice to meet you here. Now excuse us."  Marco and Elliot leaves the place with their girls finishing the dinner.

In the room:

Marco can feel Elliot's anger just by looking at him. He tries his best not to say anything. "It's time to bed close yours eyes now."  Elliot says putting the girls in sleep. "Baby I swear I had no idea she was here."  Marco says. "Did I ask you anything?"  Elliot looks at him. "No but.."  Marco tries to say. "Then shut the fuck up!"  Elliot throws a pillow towards him. "Babyyyyyyyy... I'm sorry, she was just a friend that's it."  Marco approaches him. "See, I'm controlling myself not to kill anyone so please don't make me."  Elliot pushes him away.

"Wait, are you jealous of her?"  Marco smirks. "Jealous seriously? Why would I be jealous of her? Have you see her face? it's looks like a pumpkin! Jealous my foot!"  Elliot yells. Marco hugs him tightly. "Okay calm down now and tell me what's wrong?"  he asks. Elliot breaks the hug and walks away. "See what's your mum is doing? He is so unpredictable!"  Marco says. "Girls, tell your dad to sleep on the couch today."  Elliot says back. "Wait what, no baby..."  Marco runs towards him but Elliot handovers the pillow and the blanket. "Good night Mr. Romeo."  he says. "I'm sorry baby please I'll never talk to her again I promise."  Marco tries to hug him. "No get off."  Elliot pushes him but also falls with him on the couch. "Hahaha..."  Eleanor and Siya laughs at them.

Elliot tries to get up but Marco grabs his arms. "Chole bhature ki kasam, mere aur uske bich mai kuch nahi hai. (I swear to chole bhature, I have no relation with her.)"  he says. "Sure?"  Elliot asks. "Yeah! Don't you trust me?"  Marco blinks his eyes. "I don't trust that girl."  Elliot gets up. Marco kisses his cheeks so hard. "So are you not angry now?"  he asks. "No. But you deserve a punishment for it!"  Elliot replies. They look at each other and finally sleeps on the bed.

At midnight:

Elliot's wakes up suddenly. He looks next to him to make sure Marco and his girls are safe. He cannot sleep again so he decides to take a walk in the lobby. He comes out and closes the door behind. There's a huge balcony at the end of the lobby so he decides to go there. As he starts walking he feels someone is his behind. He turns around and finds no one. "Who's there?"  he shouts but there's no answer. He ignores it and starts walking. He again feels someone is following him and turns back. "Relax Elliot you're hallucinating!"  he mumbles.

As soon as he decides to go back he sees Nancy standing in front of their room. "What are you doing here?"  he shouts. Nancy immediately looks at him and tries to act normal. "I was just checking if everything is okay!"  she replies. Elliot stands in front of her crossing his arms. "Checking what? Peeking at someone's bedroom at midnight does it sounds good to you?"  he asks. "Chill Elliot, I was just checking that's it."  Nancy replies. Elliot sighs and tries to enter but she grabs his hand. "Be careful there's a monster roaming here! It may catch you."  she says. Elliot releases his hand and looks at her. "Indeed there's a monster here right in front of me! Now please get out from here."  he says.

"Do you know what happens during the moon eclipse?"  Nancy asks. Elliot looks at her. "A dark shadow appears and hides the moon completely and the moon gets disappeared!"  she says. "It stays for some time only not forever."  Elliot says back and opens the door. "The moon eclipse is near Elliot, stay safe!"  Nancy says. Elliot shuts the door on her face. "Is she mad or what? Moon eclipse and all rubbish!"  Elliot whispers. He drinks the water and lies down on the bed. He sees how cutely Marco is sleeping holding Siya. "I love you."  he whispers. Marco smiles while sleeping. Elliot gives a flying kiss to him. "Mum.."  Eleanor turns towards him. Elliot pats her back and puts her sleep again. He then closes his eyes and falls asleep.
