Chapter 79 - Sunshine

Next day (at the hospital) :

Elliot opens his eyes and finds himself lying on the hospital's bed. "Babe.." he calls. He tries to sit up but his body denies. "Aahh.." he feels pain in his abdomen. "Baby! Thank God you're awake!" Marco enters in. Elliot looks at him with confused eyes. "Why are you saying that? What happened to me?" he asks. Marco drags a chair and sits on it. He holds his hand looking down. "Babe, is everything alright? Why the hell I'm here?" Elliot asks again. "Tell me please!" he shakes his hands.

(Flashback starts)

While everyone was sleeping peacefully in their rooms, suddenly Elliot started crying. "El? What's wrong?" Marco panicked. He started rubbing his hands, and tried to confort him. "Ahh babe! I can't.." Elliot screamed in pain. "Tell me what's wrong baby?" Marco asked. Elliot was kicking his feet and screaming in pain. "What happened?" Maya came running. "I don't know ma, we were sleeping and then suddenly he started crying and now screaming." Marco replied.

Elliot grabbed the bedsheet and started screaming so loudly. Maya noticed there is blood down there. "We need to take him to the hospital now!!" she shouted. Marco picked Elliot in his arms and they left for the hospital.

(Flashback ends)

"We took you here and.." Marco stops. He bites his own lips squeezing his eyes. "And what?" Elliot asks. Marco gulps and looks at him. "The doctor said that, you had a miscarriage!" he reveals. Elliot gasps in shock. He looks down and placing a hand on his abdomen. "That means, I.. I was pregnant?" his eyes fills with water. "Stay strong baby, you have to be strong." Marco wipes his tears. "How I had no idea that I was pregnant? I mean..." Elliot cries. "It happens in the first week or two when the person had no idea that were pregnant before the miscarriage!" Dr. Natasha replies. "But don't worry, you can still conceive in the future." she says.

Elliot gets the flashbacks and looks at his husband immediately. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry!" he cries. Marco holds his cheeks kissing his forehead. "Sshhh.. you know for me it doesn't matter who's child it was but the only thing matters is you El. I can't see you broken like this." he says. "But babe, I was raped and it was...." Elliot tries to say. "I know what you're trying to say, I know people will think that I'm so soft hearted and gives you every right to do whatever you want. I know there are people who will say, 'you got pregnant by your rapist still how I'm so okay with that child?'- (pauses) the culprit is Daniel, not you or not that child! I know society will expect me to leave you forever for this but I won't and I will never!!" Marco says back. "We are soulmates Elliot, and there's no power in the universe that can seperate us forever!" he continues.

Elliot bursts into tears and hugs him immediately. "Breath El.." Marco touches his back. "Forget what happened, I know we can't change the past but at least we can make our future better right? Let's do it together okay?" he looks at him. Elliot nods quickly. "You guys literally made me emotional. Well you have few more tests left then you can go Elliot." Natasha says. Elliot lies down again. "I'm coming in a minute okay?" Marco says kissing his forehead. "Wait.. don't leave me." Elliot grabs his hand. "Don't worry El, I'm staying with you until he comes back okay?" Lisa enters in. She sits next to him and Marco leaves the room.

A few hours later:

Elliot is sitting on the bed alone totally lost in his thoughts. 'What will people think about me that I got pregnant by my rapist! Did I cheat on my partner? Will he leave me?' - the disturbing questions are circulating on his mind. "El, the doctor gave you discharge let's go now." Lisa says. Elliot peaks behind her then looks back at her. "Where's Marco? He said he'll be back soon but where is he now?" he asks. Lisa looks down. "Answer me, where is he?" Elliot shouts. "Uhm.. he will see you there but you need to go now." Lisa replies. Before Elliot could process anything Lisa holds his hand tightly and they leave.

Two hours later:

"Li please tell me where is Marco? Did he.. please don't tell me he left me! Lisa say something." Elliot begs. "El I hope you'll forgive me for this." Lisa runs away. "No wait.. don't leave me it's so dark here please." Elliot cries. He looks around and finds no one but the place is familiar to him. He is standing alone in the dark. He squeezes his eyes and screams then falls down. Suddenly he hears some music coming in front of him. Someone is playing guitar there. "Wait.. is that?" he recognises the music and immediately stands up. The light turns on and his eyes widens. It's Marco sitting there with the guitar. "Do you remember this music buddy?" David says from behind. Elliot realizes that he is at his high school and this is the place where he first met Marco the love of his love.

"🎵 Well, I found a man, beautiful and

Marco holds Elliot's hands looking at him.

"🎵 'Cause we were just kids when we fall

Not knowing what it was

He kisses his forehead then pulls him closer and sings.

in your eyes, you're holding mine 🎵"

Elliot puts his head on Marco's shoulder.

"🎵 Baby, I'm dancing in the dark
With you between ny arms
Barefoot on the grass
Listening to our favourite song
When you said you looked a mess
I whispered underneath my breath
Darling, you look perfect tonight..🎵"

And the music stops. Both Marco and Elliot takes a deep breath in each other's arms. "You thought I left you huh?" Marco asks. Elliot looks at him with teary eyes. "I'm sorry.." he whispers. "It was all his plan okay? Don't blame me please!" Lisa shouts from behind. "You literally gave me a heart attack!" Elliot says. Marco kisses his cheek wiping his tears. "Sorry if I scared you but this is all I can do for you my love. I just wanna say is, let's start a new beginning together and promise each other to stay together even after death." he says. "I promise." Elliot smiles. Marco leans to kiss him but he refuses. "It's okay, first lets heal together okay?" Marco says. They hold each other's hands and gets in the car.

At the Mansion:

David and Lisa shows everyone the video of theirs. "Awww so sweet bro, Elliot you are so damn lucky." Riya says. "Are you okay now?" Maya asks. "Yes better." Elliot replies. "Dadda dance.." Eleanor pulls Marco's hands. "Oh you wanna dance? Let's go." Marco swings both of his girls and then laughs happily. Christine and Ayushi also enjoys seeing them. "Roger, why are you standing there? Come join us." Marco calls. Roger smiles brightly running towards them. He also dances with his cousins.

Elliot gets emotional seeing them. "Okay fine it's time to eat, come here." Maya shouts. The kids run towards their grandma. Marco takes the plate and sits next to Elliot on the couch. "What are you thinking baby?" he asks. "Thank you for coming into my life babe." Elliot looks at him. Marco wipes his tears. "Thank you for letting me." he says back. Elliot smiles. Marco feeds him with his hands then eats himself.

In the bedroom:

Elliot lies down after taking the pills. Marco is in the kids rooms putting the kids on sleep. Elliot takes his phone and watches the video and smiles. Suddenly his smiles disappears remembering that horrific night. He puts the phone aside and closes his eyes.

"🎵 Well, I found a man, stronger than
anyone I know.. 🎵"

Elliot opens his eyes and finds his lover standing in front of him. "Remember what we promised? I know it's hard but let's try okay?" Marco says. He lies down and pulls him closer in his arms. "How much?" Elliot looks at him. "For what?" Madco asks. "For being my therapist." Elliot replies. Marco smiles looking at him. "One kiss is enough baby." he winks. Elliot blushes and covers his face in the blanket. "Fine, but I want my payment okay?" Marco teases. They look at each other then fall asleep together.
