Chapter 41 - The Secret

At thirty six weeks:

The time is almost here, the due date is near and that's why Elliot is kind of a scared and nervous. He is sitting on the couch in the living room. Marco is at the kitchen, making the food because Maya is at the office. Atharv is helping him with ingredients. "Ugh I hate it." Elliot says. He turns off the TV and stands up. "Baby where are you going?" Marco asks from the kitchen. "Washroom obviously! your munchkins don't let me sit in peace for a moment!" Elliot replies. He slowly slowly enters the bathroom. Marco serves the food on the plates and stands outside the bathroom. Elliot comes out and slaps his shoulder. "What did I do now?" Marco asks. "Nothing I just feel like slapping you." Elliot replies. "Okay." Marco says helplessly. They comes and sits on dinning table and starts eating. "Bro, why did he hit you?" Atharv asks. "I don't know, as the delivery date approaches, Elliot's mood becomes more dangerous. I swear, even girls don't have such tantrums!" Marco whispers. "Did you say something?" Elliot looks at them. "No, nothing." Marco replies nervously. He looks down and starts eating again. Elliot stares at him. Atharv holds his laugh and eats.

They finishes their lunch and Elliot enters his bedroom. Marco follows him and Atharv walks towards his room. "Uhm.. are you okay?" Marco asks. Elliot turns around and crosses his arms. "No I'm not, your products are not letting me sleep properly and continuously kicking and you are asking me, baby are you okay? No, actually you tell me, am I looking good?" he yells. Marco stays silent he knows if he says anything Elliot will beat him up. Elliot sighs and lies on the bed. "Do you want something?" Marco asks. Elliot gives him a death stare. "I want to sleep so please get out." he replies. "Okay, uhm.. actually I'm going out for a while. Atharv is here, if you want anything just call him." Marco says. "Fuck off!" Elliot says back and closes his eyes. Marco carefully walks out of the room without making any noise.

At the evening:

Maya comes back at home. She goes upstairs and finds Elliot is sitting on his bed. "How are you feeling now?" she asks. "I don't know mom, I feel like murdering someone!" Elliot replies. Maya laughs and sits next to him. "I heard that it happens before the delivery. Don't worry, everything will be alright." she says. Elliot nods. "By the way, where is Marco?" she asks. "God knows where he is." Elliot replies. Maya holds her laugh and leaves the room. Elliot is about to lie down when he sees a file on the bed. "Mom, you left your file here." he shouts but she is already gone. He takes the file and starts walking suddenly his eyes cathes something. "Wait, what is this?" he opens the file and reads it. His hands starts shaking after reading the papers. Elliot immediately handles himself and sits on the sofa.

"Sorry for the trouble, I just came to collect my file." Maya walks in. She gasps seeing her file in his hands. Elliot looks at her with teary eyes. "Tell me mom, this is not true." he holds her hands. Maya sits next to him and takes a deep breath. "I wish it wasn't!" she says. Elliot puts the file aside and hugs her. "I can't believe Marco isn't your son! " he says. "Please don't tell anyone I request you please." Maya panics. "No I won't I promise. But please tell me everything. I mean, he is like your shadow, how can he be adopted?" Elliot asks. Maya wipes her tears and looks at him. "You remember I told you that I had a miscarriage and I'll never become a mother again? Well, after that when everyone blamed me I felt so devastated and went back to my home in India. My mom and dad were alive that time, they took me to so many doctors but nothing happened. I lost every hope and I had even given up hope of living." she stops.

{Flashback starts }

Maya was sitting on a chair in the middle of the forest at the night. Completely broken and lost. She had a knife in her one hand. "मला माफ कर आई, पण मी आता ते हाताळू शकत नाही. (forgive me mother, but I can't handle it anymore.)" Maya said. Her hands were shaking and she closed her eyes. Before she committed suicide she heard some people running behind her. Maya came back into her senses and followed the noise and reached place but the people were already gone. She turn around and heard a baby crying. Maya immediately throw the knife away and took the baby in her hands. The baby was crying very loudly. "शांत हो बाळा मी इथे आहे, तुला कोणीही दुखावणार नाही बाळा, शांत हो. (Calm down baby I'm here, no one will hurt you baby, calm down.)" she comfort the baby. The baby stopped crying and Maya took him with her.

{ Flashback ends }

"That baby was Marco. First I took him to the hospital and then informed the police. But no trace of those people was found. So I adopted him legally." Maya explains. Elliot hugs her tightly and rubs her back. "Does he know about it?" he asks. "No. I don't want him to know otherwise he will be devastated." Maya replies. She stands up and wipes her tears. "I know this is not you expected but yeah now you know." she says. Elliot gives her the file and hugs her again. "I don't know what was the compulsion of those people who left an infant like this! I seriously don't know." Maya says. They breaks the hug and she leaves the room.

At night :

Elliot takes the ice cream from the fridge and starts eating standing there. "Oh hello dear, what's up?" a voice comes. Elliot turns around and sees Sam standing in front of him. "What are you doing here?" he asks. "I was going this way so I thought to meet you." Sam replies. Elliot rolls his eyes and walks out of the kitchen. "Why? I heard that you joined Daniel's team then what are you doing here?" he asks. "That's the reason I'm here darling." Sam replies. He approaches him and smiles. "Don't worry I won't harm you, well I just want to tell you that, Be careful and keep your cage tightly tied. So that you don't get lost due to the coming storm! " he says. Elliot doesn't reply anything. Sam smirks and turns around and finds Marco is standing behind him.

"While imparting knowledge to others, don't get disappear yourself." Marco says. "Stop worrying about me and pay attention to your partner." Sam says back. "Don't tell me what to do okay? And get the hell out of here fucking bastard!" Marco yells. "You are so changed Marco." Sam says. "Didn't you hear what he said? Just get out from here!" Elliot shouts. Sam looks at him. "Don't show me your attitude Elliot, very soon I'll be in your place!" he says. He smiles at Marco and leaves the mansion. Marco approaches Elliot and hugs him. "I'm sorry I was rude to you." Elliot says. "Oh come on El, don't apologise for it. You are my partner and you have all rights to throw tantrums okay?" Marco says back. Elliot hugs him tightly and remembers Maya's words. They break the hug and enter their bedroom.

In the room :

They sits next to each other on the bed. Marco rubs his bump and kisses it and baby kicks. "The way they respons everything I feel they are so excited to come out." Elliot says. Marco smiles and kisses his lips. "I love you." he says between the kiss. "Ugh! Not again." Elliot breaks the kiss and enters the bathroom. Marco stands up and makes the bed. A few minutes later Elliot comes out and lies down on the bed. "Where did you go that took so long to come back?" he asks. "I went on a secret mission." Marco replies. He lies down next to him. "And what is it?" Elliot asks.

"Actually I had gone to plan for the third child." Marco teases. "I will kill you if you say that again! Here these two have not come out yet and you are talking about the third child!" Elliot yells. Marco laughs loudly. "Now tell me seriously where were you at?" Elliot asks again. "I went to kill some people." Marco reveals. "Ohh God but why?" Elliot yells. "Those people were Daniel's goons that's why." Marco replies. Elliot sighs and closes his eyes. Marco kisses his hand and wraps him in his arms. "You know what? I'm feeling like I'm hugging a submarine right now." he teases. "Shut up behenchod." Elliot punches his shoulder. "Hey!!! Don't you think you are becoming so comfortable with this word?" Marco says. Elliot laughs and hides his face. They cuddles each other and falls asleep.
