Chapter 34 - New Beginning

Santa Monica, USA:

Marco and Elliot return to their mansion. They enter in and see everyone standing around Robert's dead body. Sam and Felix (Daniel's father) looks at them with irritation. "Aunty hasn't even come and seen his dead body yet." Atharv says. Marco sighs and goes upstairs to check his mom. "You go and take some rest, you must be very tired." Atharv gives water to Elliot. "Yes, of course he is definitely tired after getting my brother killed." Felix yells. Atharv tries to approach him but Elliot stops him. "The son killed his own father. And you are responsible for this you bloody slut!" Felix yells again. "Excuse me sir, when you don't feel like talking, you should remain silent!" Atharv says. He clenches his fist and waiting for a perfect moment to punch him on his face. Elliot remains silent and holds Atharv's hand strongly.

"Uncle is not saying anything wrong. He is the one who is responsible for everything!" Sam joins the argue. Atharv releases the grip and stands in front of him. "Tell me one thing, who are you to talk like this? It is our family matter, and it will be better if you stay away from this." he says. Sam doesn't reply to anything and steps back in anger. "Atharv please calm down." Elliot requests him. "Don't do drama okay! You know very well that Robert was the only person who spoked against you. Otherwise, you have kept the rest of the family as your servants." Felix says. "You are misunderstanding me, why would I do all this? He was my father in law" Elliot replies. "Shut the fuck up you nonsense! If I want I can arrest Marco and his mother right now. And then I will do something to you that you cannot even think of." Felix yells at him.

"If you are so concerned about your brother, then please go and bury his dead body." Maya says from behind. There is no sadness on her face. She throws the marriage papers towards the dead body. Marco comes and stands between Felix and Elliot. "Is your nonsense done? Now if even one more word comes out of your mouth, I will cut off your tongue!" he says. Felix steps back and tells his guards to take the dead body. Elliot gets shocked to see Maya. She had no tears in her eyes, she is not even looking at her dead husband. The guards take the dead body and leave the mansion with Felix. Maya takes a deep breath and enters her bedroom. "Are you okay?" Marco asks. "Yes, and you?" Elliot looks at him. "I'm fine if you're fine." Marco replies. Elliot slightly smiles and enters Maya's bedroom. Marco sighs and walks towards his room. Sam follows him but Atharv grabs his wrist. "Don't you have any work? You just keep roaming here all day." he says. Sam releases his hand and walks away.

Elliot knocks the door and enters in. He sees Maya is sitting on her bed with some papers. He comes and sits next to her. "Don't worry Elliot, I'm absolutely fine." Maya says. "Marco told me that his father used to beat him and you (pauses) he even showed me the burn mark also." Elliot says. "Robert was a monster. Yes it's true that I fell in love with him but after I understood his true intentions I tried to run away but it was too late. He forced me and we got married. He blamed me for my miscarriage too." Maya wipes her tears. Elliot rubs her hands. "When Marco came into my life I thought now he will change but I was wrong. He never accepted Marco as his son instead he treated him like an enemy." Maya says again. "It's okay mom please don't cry. He is gone now." Elliot comforts her. Maya closes her eyes and takes a deep breath.

"Well, I made a decision." she says. Elliot looks at her. "What?" he asks. Maya opens her eyes and handovers some papers to him. "I want you to take care of our business now." she says. "Me? No mom I can't." Elliot refuses. "Why not? You're very smart and intelligent Elliot. You can do very well." Maya encourages him. "This will help Marco and will keep you engaged in it too. And if you need any help then make Atharv as your assistant, he will guide you." she says. "But..." Elliot hesitates. Maya holds his hands. "Don't worry, I believe you can do it." she says. Elliot nods. Maya gives him a pen and he signs the papers. "You should not underestimate yourself Elliot, you're stronger than you think." Maya pats his shoulder. "I try not to disappoint you mom. But now please take some rest, I'll make the dinner today." Elliot says. "Okay, as you wish boss." Maya teases. Elliot blushes and leaves the room.

At evening :

Marco enters the kitchen and gets mesmerized seeing Elliot is cooking there. He takes an apple and throws it towards him. The apple hits his waist and Elliot turns around. "What the hell?" he gives a death stare. Marco runs towards him and pulls him closer by his waist. "I didn't know that someone could look so beautiful even while cooking." he smirks. "Can you please stop? I'm busy." Elliot pushes him away. Marco again pulls him closer and holds him strongly. "I know you're busy but I want a kiss right now!" he whispers. "If the food gets burns then I will feed you the same burnt food." Elliot releases the grip. "Okay fine Mr. hubby, I'll wait." Marco says. Elliot laughs. Suddenly Marco turns around and kisses his cheeks and immediately runs away.

Elliot's smile fades away seeing Sam in front of him. "Do you want something?" he asks politely. "I don't want anything, but can you please tell me what do you actually want?" Sam says. "Please don't start again." Elliot looks away. "Why not Elliot Williams? I know truth hurts but you have to answer me." Sam yells. "I'm sorry I can't answer your useless questions." Elliot says. He moves away from him and starts cooking. "You can't ignore me like that. You took everything from me Elliot!! Everything!" Sam yells again. "Fine, tell me what I did to you?" Elliot turns off the gas and looks at him. "Don't act like you don't know anything! You took my Marco from me. You put poison in his ears against me that's why he hates me now!" Sam shouts. "I didn't do anything Sam you're mistaken." Elliot says back. "Really? I'm sorry darling but fact is fact. I was his best friend since childhood, we spend six months together before you came into our life." Sam says. Elliot feels irritated and stands in front of him.

Sam looks at him."See I'm not saying that it was Marco's fault, it's you who manipulated him. You snatched him from me. I know you don't love him, you love his power and money that's it. And well, now you're the new CEO of his business. What a great player you are Elliot. You made him kill everyone who went against you, I'm sorry if it hurts you but the truth is that you have trapped him by showing your beauty. Like you did with Edward and I'm sure Atharv is your next target." he says. Hearing all this Elliot slaps him.

"Enough is enough! There is a lot of poison inside you for me, isn't it? Stop blaming others for your broken friendship, because it was your fault. You don't know the limits of relationships, but I do. I know you hate me so much but let me tell you I don't care! Do whatever you want, I don't give a fuck! Be thankful that Marco isn't here, otherwise he would have shot you instead of slapping you." Elliot says. He takes the plate. "And yes, it's not Elliot Williams, it's Elliot Williams Fernandes. I want you to remember that!" he says and leaves the kitchen. Sam removes his hand from his face and breaks a glass in anger and leaves the mansion.

Elliot serves the food to everyone and sits next to Marco. "Omg! This is heaven, you have magic in your hands." Atharv says. "Thanks cutie." Elliot replies. Marco clears his throat and looks at them. "Why are you feeling jealous huh? Apart from noodles and coffee, what have you cooked till date?" Maya slaps his shoulder. Elliot and Atharv holds their laugh. "Ma.. why are you roasting me? Don't you love me?" Marco pouts and blinks his eyes. "No I don't, now stop making the stupid face." Maya replies. "By the way bhabi... sorry sorry I mean, bhai no sorry I mean.." Atharv struggles to say. "Call him sir, it's better." Marco teases. "Shut up! Atharv, as I said you can call me anything you like I won't mind." Elliot says. "Okay." Atharv says and starts finishing his food. Marco looks at Elliot and holds his hand. "You have the right to know the truth, that's why I will take you to where my journey as a Mafia King started." he says. Elliot nods. Everyone eats their meal and goes to their rooms.

Elliot and Marco enters their bedroom and lies down on the bed. Marco wraps him in his arms and kisses him. Elliot kisses back and falls asleep.
