"The world ended. Didn't you get the memo?"

"Hey." I turn my head and find Glenn approaching me.

"Hey." I smile happily. "Nervous over this rescue mission?" I ask him. He pokes his bottom lip out, lightly shaking his head.

"Not really." He shrugs. "I mean, maybe a little bit." He answers.

"You'll be fine." I reassure him. "You're fast on your feet, you know the ways through the city. Rick's got your back, T. I'm not entirely sure about Daryl, but maybe something might change." I say. He huffs out a smile and nods his head.

Moments later, Rick, Glenn, T-Dog and Daryl head off to the city to bring back Merle and the bag of guns. While the guys are off on their mission, the rest of us remained behind and continue on with the chores as usual. Andrea, Amy, Carol and Jacquie went down to the quarry to do some laundry. Shane took Carl down to the quarry to catch some frogs as Shane promised Carl yesterday. Dale kept watch on the RV, making sure to give out any signals if walkers or people were approaching our perimeter.

I carried a bucket around with me, entering the woods and going off to find us some mushrooms, maybe berries even. Everything's come to life, the birds are chirping. Squirrels are scattering across my path. If I were a hunter, I'd be able to easily catch these things.

I soon come to a stop when I find a berry bush off to trail. Dale and Shane highly advises us to remain on the trail that they've cleared in case of anything. But to me, this berry bush seems pretty important. It can be used for jam, or just to be eaten by themselves. I step off the trail and walk over to the bush, kneeling down and picking them off the branches and placing them in the bucket. Once I felt I had enough, I turn my head and found a peach tree.

"Whoa." I raise my brows. I really wasn't expecting to find a random peach tree in the middle of the woods like this. I really do love peaches, they're very sweet, plump, juicy. Just delicious. How come we've never noticed this before?

I wander off further into the woods, immediately reaching up and picking them off the branches. It was pretty important to determine which peaches were good and which weren't. It wouldn't be safe to eat them if they've got holes in them...worms. I was able to get all the ones closest to my level, but it was beginning to get higher and higher for me to reach them. I'm a very short person. I can fit in small, tight spaces without any problems. But when it comes to things higher than 5'6, it's all game over for me. I spent most of my time climbing the shelves at grocery stores trying to get things that I need. Although people who were taller than me were nice enough to simply reach up and get it for me, but I was on my own for the most part.

I set the bucket down on the ground as I knew the only thing to get more peaches for everyone was to climb up the tree. I grab onto a branch and pull myself up, climbing higher and higher. I grab each peach and drop them into the bucket. Some I'd miss and they'd roll off to the side, but not too far. Thankfully, none of them squashed and broke. The amount of peaches grew satisfying for me. Until I spotted one big one. The mama of all peaches.

"I need it." I whisper to myself. I won't lie, big peaches were the juiciest for me. And I love big peaches. The only problem is, it's on the outer branch of the tree. And yet I felt determined. I climb up higher than the peach, positioning myself and reaching out for the peach. I held on tight to the branch behind me as I let out strains and soft grunts, trying to grab the peach. The branch the peach was on was too thick for me to pull back and bend it towards me. I shift my foot slight and I let out a gasp as I almost slip and fall. I reposition myself and lean forward again. Finally, I grab onto the peach and snap it off the branch. I huff out a smile, feeling a moment of pride as I was able to grab the peach. I take a moment to spin the peach around and make sure there weren't any signs that worms of any bigs had burrowed down in there. And to my disappoint, there was. I let out a groan of anger before tossing the peach off to the side. I was highly disappointed about it. I wanted that peach, it was going to be so delicious.
