Shane curses angrily at the man who came out of the bushes, repeatedly apologizing for shooting Carl. Shane wasn't giving a single shit about what the man had to say. All he knew was that his favorite person in the world is shot and isn't responding. All he wanted was to know where he came from and if his people were able to help. Thankfully, he does. Shane remains with the man, a little aways behind. I remained right next to Rick. He was able to place his belt around Carl's chest to slow the bleeding.

We manage to break through the woods and into a large, opened field.  Shane curses at the man once again from behind. Rick stops in his tracks.

"How far? How far?!" He screams.

"Another half mile that way!" The man calls breathlessly. "Hershel. Talk to Hershel. He'll help your boy." Rick turns away and we continue running. We run up a small hill and find a white farm house in the distance. It was like tunnel vision for Rick. As soon as his eyes caught sight of it, it's like the adrenaline kicked up more and he was running faster than he was earlier. It almost getting hard for me to stay by his side.

We get through the fence, leaving the gate open and running across the front lawn. We see an older man stepping outside the front door. Three women, and a younger man holding onto a bat.

"Is he bit?" The old man, assumed to be Hershel, asks us.

"Shot. By your man." Rick gasps.

"Otis?" The older woman questions.

"He said find Hershel. Is that you?" I question. Hershel nods.

"Help me. Help my boy." Rick begs, falling back into hysterics of tears.

"Get him inside." Hershel demands. We follow Hershel inside the house as he begins barking orders for his people to grab medical equipment. We enter a room and Hershel calls for Rick to lay Carl down on the bed.

"Is he alive?" Rick questions, his face is pale, he's sweating and he's no longer in tears. Rick is in complete and utter shock as of right now.

"Pillow case." Hershel demands.

"Is he alive?" Rick repeats.

"Pillow case quick!" Hershel calls. Rick removes a pillow case and hands it to Hershel. He folds it down and lays it over Carl's wound. "Hold pressure on the wound." He orders. Rick leans down and places his hands over the pillowcase. Hershel uses his stethoscope and lays it down over Carl's chest. "I've got a heartbeat." Hershel announces. Rick breathes in a shaky breath. "It's faint."

"I got it, step back." The older woman calls, pushing herself between Rick and Hershel, taking over for Rick of holding pressure.

"Maggie, I.V." Hershel calls. "What's your name?"

"Rick." Rick barely forces out.

"Rick?" Hershel clarifies.

"I'm-I'm-I'm Rick." Rick nods his head.

"Rick, we gonna do everything we can, okay? You need to give us some room." Hersel calls.

Maggie nods her head. She gives me a look and I immediately grab onto Rick's shoulders. I pull him from the room, guiding him out. Maggie shuts the door behind us. Rick inhales a shaky breath, his eyes stuck to the ground. I honestly prepared myself to catch him in my arms as it looked like he was about to pass out due to the shocking events unfolding. We only turn our heads to the sound of Shane shouting in the distance. We look outside and see him and the man running across the front lawn. Rick moves over to the front door, stepping outside. Shane slows his pace and holds a worried look.
