"We're gonna play this out."

The sun disappears. None of us thought to bring a flashlight with us. All we have as light is the moon shining high in the sky. Rick had Shane guide us. I remained quiet for the most part. But still, something ate away at me. There's no way I did this. But Rick doesn't believe me. And that's what hurts the most for me. How can I prove to him that I wasn't the one who let Randall out? How can I convince Rick? I've already spotted a few holes in Shane's story. It's an officers job to spot the holes. How does Rick not see it?
I take a few fast steps forward, reaching Rick's side.
"You can't tell me you believe him, Rick." I whisper, glancing over to Shane, making sure he doesn't hear me. "You can't tell me you didn't spot the holes in his story either. How can Randall, hobbled, exhausted as you said, an-and still injured take the jump on Shane? He's a twig! And Shane's a lot bigger and a lot stronger than Randall. Rick, tell me you're not believing this." I say.
"We're gonna play this out." He whispers. I furrow my brows.
"What?" I question.
"He's planning something. He wants to play the game, we're playing it." He claims. My heart pounds against my chest. I wanted to tell Rick that Shane had killed Otis. I wasn't afraid to hold back. I couldn't. Not after what Shane had done to me. Blaming me- no framing me as the one who released Randall. I can't let this go on.
"Whatever happens, follow my lead." Rick says softly. I give him a nod and slow my pace a bit, allowing Rick to approach Shane's side. "Looks like it's busted pretty bad." He says.
"It's fine, man." Shane shrugs it off. "Don't worry about me. We continue on through the woods, looking around for any signs of Randall. Rick and I know Randall is already dead. It's what Shane always wanted. But what would be his motive? Why want someone dead so bad if they weren't even in the situation? Then again, family kill for family. But the way Rick and Shane's relationship went downhill lately, there's no way Shane still even gives a shit about Rick. He's obsessed with Rick's family, Rick's life. He wants Lori's baby to be his. While there very well may be a chance of it being his, he still wants Lori and Carl for himself.
Rick slows in his tracks, myself bumping into him. Shane stops ahead of us, slowly turning back to us. Rick doesn't say anything. He glances back to me, giving me a discrete nod.
"I can try...tracking him." I announce. Shane stops, turning over his shoulder.
"No need. He went this way." He claims. Shane continues on ahead. Rick grabs my arm, pulling me close.
"Stay right by my side. I don't know what he's up to, all right? I don't want anything happening to you." He whispers. We continue on walking. Eventually, we find ourselves walking out into a field. Rick and I walk out first, looking around. I come to a stop when I feel Rick's hand tug at the hem of my shirt. I kept my gaze ahead, making sure not to give Shane any reason to look at us suspicious. Rick wants to keep things hidden between us from Shane. It's best not to throw him off.
"You say he got you with a rock?" Rick asks Shane.
"That's what I said." Shane answers.
"Inside the shed?" Rick continues. "'Cause that door was shut when T-Dog rolled up."
"I saw that too." Shane says. I shift my eyes over to him.
"Care to explain that, Kira?" He asks me. I throw him a shrug, swallowing hard.
