After training, we all return back to the farm. For Carl's first time shooting a gun, he did amazing. He was able to get most of the targets. Every one of us are proud of him today. Kids got his father's natural talent it seems.
I found Glenn chopping away at some wood. I approach him and he huffs out a sigh, wiping his forehead free of the sweat.
"You okay?" I ask him. He nods.
"Yeah. I, uh..." He looks down. "You might be mad, but I told Dale." I raise my brows.
"About the walkers?" I question.
"About Lori, too." He nods.
"Glenn." I utter softly. "Why would you-"
"I had to tell someone, okay? I can't keep secrets. I can't easily lie to everyone. I don't like it. The guilt just pressures on and on me." He explains. I give him a nod.
"So what did he say?" I ask.
"Well, he went to talk to Hershel about the barn. Maybe figure something out with him. Heshel sees them as sick people. He knows people in there. His wife, his stepson. He thinks they're all sick and he's waiting for someone to help them get better. And we will be telling the others later. I don't know when, but we will." He says. I guess I hadn't realize how much pressure I felt, not until Glenn told Dale about the situations. It almost feels like a relief. I was worried something might happen if we told anyone. But I guess this feeling of relief was the right thing to do.
"And Lori?"
"He wants us, mostly you, to keep talking to her. Maybe try and convince her to tell Rick before more people find out." He nods. I shift my head to he side. Lori comes approaching us.
"Well, I guess he spoke to her." I say. Glenn turns his head and meets Lori's eyes.
"I'm sorry. I'm-It just came out. And it was Dale." Glenn quickly explains.
"It's okay. I never should've put either of you in that position." Lori softly says. She looks down at her hands, holding a folded piece of paper. "I've been thinking about what you said about needing help. And you're right that I do."
"Name it. Yeah." I nod.
"If you guys are still willing to make a run into town for me..." She softly asks.
"We're your guys." Glenn smiles happily.
"Thank you." She pulls both of us into her arms, giving us a three-way hug.
"It's okay. It's not a big deal, really." Glenn reassures her. She breaks the hug and slips the list into my hands. She pulls back and walks away. I turn to Glenn, giving him a smile. It could've gone worse. But we're doing good with her. We've got her on our side.
"I'll ask permission for horses and you get our things together?" Glenn asks,
"You got it." I nod. We part ways. I walk over to our tent, entering inside. I grab each our bags and began packing a few things. A flashlight, batteries, medical kit if anything happens to either of us. I paused for a moment, pulling the list from my back pocket and unfolded it. I scan through everything she had asked. Nothing but a few things. Soap, conditioner. My eyes hit the last request. I furrow my brows as I felt a bit hurt from one of the things she asked for Glenn and I to get. I look up, glancing to the side and shaking my head.
Glenn had finally arrived with the horses and we made our way towards the front of the house. As I saddled up, I turn my head to the side, seeing Maggie marching right down the pathway towards us.
