"Can You?"

The next morning, Rick and Shane had already gone to take Randall 18 miles out from the farm to send him on his way. Jack and I had talked some more, but it wasn't going much of anywhere so far. Glenn and I have still been quiet with each other. Ever since our conversation earlier, he hasn't really said much. And I don't know how to respond to it.
"Are you okay?" I approach Glenn. He huffs out a breath, looking down. "I understand what happened the other night was pretty intense, but at least talk to me about it." I frown.
"I don't need to." He shrugs it off.
"Then talk to me about what you said before you and Rick left." Glenn huffs out another sigh. "You said you loved me. And when you got back, you were just this whole different person. What's going on?"
"Nothing."
"It's not nothing. It's something."
"Just don't worry about it."
"I can't exactly not worry about it. Because you told me you loved me and when you got back you're, what, giving me the cold shoulder? You're acting like I'm the one who said it and you can't handle it."
"Can you?"
"What does that mean?"
"I said that I loved you. And you just stood there and didn't even say anything back."
"You said it like it was a habit for you. And I was caught off guard. What was I supposed to say?"
"I don't know. That you love me back instead of making me stand there like an idiot."
"Glenn-"
"When those guys shot at us, all I could think about was you. How I was gonna let you down. How badly you were gonna hurt when Rick and Hershel came back without me. I mean, you freaked out when you didn't see me get out of the truck for a while. Rick and Hershel were counting on me and all I could think about was you."
"So you blame me for getting in your head."
"Yeah. Maybe I do." Glenn sighs out and walks away. I shake my head at a loss. I just don't get it. It's all confusing for me. How does he tell me he loves me and then just comes back and blames me for him almost getting killed? How does that work? It doesn't make any sense to me. I just...I don't get it.

I walk into the kitchen, finding Lori standing at the island and working away on a plate. I greet her with a small smile as I stood on the other side.
"You okay?" She asks. I swallow hard. I'm not one to really do the whole girl talk with others for my own issues. I'll always be there for the girls who need it. But coming out with my own issues, I've never been that type of person. I've always dealt with it my own way.
"Has Rick said anything to you about what happened in the town?" I ask.
"Just that it had gotten pretty bad ." She shrugs.
"He's not the same." I begin. "Glenn says he froze. Blames me. Says that I got in his head."
"He came back. That's what matters." She nods. "Men have to do certain things- you know that- and they're either gonna blame the little woman as the reason they do 'em or the reason they don't. I'll tell you something- what happens out there happens out there. And we- We're just trying to keep it together til they get back."
