The hardest task began. We've gathered Hershel's wife and his stepson, along with Sophia and brought them together for the burial. But it wasn't exactly over with. What Shane had done, it was hard for the Greene family. Yes, putting down their loved ones was hard, but it was better to get it done and over with, rather than keeping them the way they were. Hershel was angry, I don't blame him. He demanded that Hershel be removed off his land, but I'm sure Rick will give Hershel the space he needs and talk with him to make sure that doesn't happen, or even keep us on his land for our safety. Hershel was sure that maybe Otis had put Sophia in there before he was killed. It's not like Otis knew we were looking for Sophia. How could  he have known? He, Shane and myself were off getting the supplies for Carl when he was shot. Otis wouldn't have known. Maybe if Shane hadn't killed him, Otis would've mentioned it and the search would've be done with.

The funeral for the loss was a nice funeral. Hershel read from the bible, sharing some words. Carol didn't attend to it. She felt that Sophia wasn't her daughter and she didn't need to see it. I don't know what it's like to mourn the loss of your child. I've never been a mother. But I can only imagine the pain Carol must be going through. And yet, even imagination isn't enough to understand the pain.

Time went by. Glenn and I were sitting at camp, taking in the moment of what happened. Not only did Carol lose her daughter, we all lost something too. Finding Sophia was important to us all. Most of everyone believed that Sophia was gone, and that we were waisting time on finding her. But I guess when reality hit, it was a complete shocker for us all. It almost felt like a joke for me the most. Daryl and I almost died, could've died when we looked for Sophia. But all this time, she was right there, in the barn. And what hurts the most, Glenn and I found the barn. And we didn't even catch a glimpse of Sophia being in there. Maybe if we weren't so freaked out over the ordeal, if we hadn't just ran off, we would've looked in there, counted how many there were and maybe, just maybe we could've found her. But it's not just that.

"Are you okay?" Glenn asks me. He kneels down in front of me, holding onto my thighs. I lightly shake my head, feeling the anger pulsating through me.

"It's all a full circle." I say softly. Glenn tilts his head, furrowing his brows.

"What do you mean?" He asks. I look around me, looking for someone specific. I pull myself forward and grab his forearms, holding onto them tightly.

"If Otis hadn't died, he would've been able to tell us about Sophia." I say. Glenn shakes his head.

"Maybe he wouldn't have known." He shrugs.

"No, he would've. Because we told Hershel about it. And I'm sure Otis would've helped us."

"But...he died. There wasn't anything you or Shane could've done. Otis wanted to save Carl, so he...he gave his life to save yours, Shane's and Carl's." I shake my head.

"No. He didn't." Glenn shakes his head.

"Kira, what are you saying?" He asks me. I breathe in deeply. I look him in the eyes, swallowing hard.

"Shane killed Otis. He shot him in the leg and left him to die. He wouldn't let me help Otis, so he dragged me away and threatened he'd kill me if I told anyone." Glenn holds a stare with me. He's completely frozen. His eyes switched between mines, but I could tell he was trying to figure out the words to say next.

"Secrets out." I say softly. Glenn opens his mouth to say something, but nothing comes out.

"Kira!" I turn my head and see Maggie waving her hand. I get up from the chair and follow jog over to her. "Help me, please. It's Beth." She panics. I follow her to through the house and find Beth lying on the kitchen floor. Her eyes are open, but she isn't responding to anything. Glenn picks up Beth in his arms and carries her to the nearest bedroom, lying her down. Maggie sits down and holds onto Beth's hand, softly calling her name.
