"It sets the air on fire."

Rick, Shane, T and I race down the set of stairs to the basement, using our flashlights where to step and ensure none of tripped over each other. As we approach the last set of stairs, the lights suddenly cut back on.

"Decontamination- what does that mean?" I question.

"I don't like the way Jenner clammed up." Shane shakes his head. "The way he just wandered off like that."

"What's wrong with him? Seriously, man." T says behind me. "Is he nuts, medicated, what?" We come to a stop, taking a look at the large map nailed to the wall. Rick turns his head and points.

"In there." We all walk through a door and come into a large, wide room filled with dozens upon dozens of fuel bins. As we walk further in, the lights shut on, most likely over motion detection.

"Check that way." Rick points. "Shane." He and Shane wander off to one side of the basement while T and I go off to the other side of the basement. With each fuel barrel we see, T and I tip them off to the side to see how full they were. Only to find each one of them empty.

"Think this place is gonna explode or something?" T asks me.

"I don't know." I shake my head. "I'm more concerned over the decontamination part. What does it mean? Is this place gonna blow? Set a fire? Chemicals spurting from the sparklers?" The lights suddenly shut off, leaving us in the dark.

"Emergency lighting on." VI announces. I pull away and jog off through the basement, looking for Rick and Shane.

"Hey, you guys kill the lights?" I ask.

"Nah, it just went out." Shane explains.

"Anything?" Rick asks.

"Yeah, a lot of dead generators and more empty fuel drums than I can count." T says. We stand next to the last generator, humming as it's connected to the fuel barrel. Shane points his light to the meter, revealing the needle to hover just barely over E. Empty.

"It can't be down to just that one." Shane says.

As we waited for the others, Lori and I made some small talk with each other, along with helping Carl and his homework. Lori did most of the talking as she reminded me to rest my voice. But still, we've had some good small talks. It wasn't til we both grew silent and realized something. We both locked eyes and knew we were hearing the same thing. Silence. We pull our heads up and see the air conditioning vent above us. Lori stands up, reaches on her toes and raises her hand up to the vent, feeling for the air conditioning. She glance at me and shakes her head.

"Mom, something wrong?" Carl asks her.

"Uh, nothing, it's just...the air conditioning stopped." She lightly explains. She turns to me.

"There's a usual hum and a soft hissing sound." I softly tell her.

"Yeah, and I don't hear it or feel any flow." She adds. Moments pass the lights suddenly cut off. We all move to the door and poke our heads out, seeing Jenner veering around the corner.

"Why's the air off?" Lori asks Jenner.

"And-And the lights in our room?" Carol asks.

"What's going on? Why's everything turned off?" Daryl pops his head out from his room, swinging a bottle of Jack in his hand. Jenner swoops down and snatches the bottle from Daryl, taking a drink.
