You stood at the towering gates of Stark Industries, clutching your laptop bag nervously. Today was the day: your first day as Tony Stark's new intern. The security detail checked your ID and let you in, leading you through a maze of glass-walled corridors until you reached the elevator that would take you to the top floor.

The doors opened with a soft chime, revealing Tony Stark himself, leaning casually against his desk, typing something on his tablet.

"Well, look who finally made it," he said, not looking up. "You must be the new intern."

"Yes, sir," you replied, trying to keep your voice steady.

"Sir? Do I look like my father? Call me Tony." He finally glanced up, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "And you are?"

"Y/N," you said, stepping forward and offering your hand. He took it, his grip firm and warm.

"Y/N, huh? Sounds like trouble." He flashed a grin. "Come on, let’s get you settled."

Tony gave you a whirlwind tour of the lab, explaining projects in rapid-fire succession, his enthusiasm contagious. You found yourself genuinely fascinated, but it was hard to concentrate with Tony’s frequent sidelong glances and flirtatious comments.

“Y/N, you keep looking at me like that, and I might start thinking you’re interested in more than just nanotechnology,” Tony teased as he showed you the holographic interface he’d been working on.

“Maybe I am,” you shot back before you could stop yourself. Tony’s eyebrows shot up in surprise, and he chuckled.

“Careful now, or I might just take you up on that,” he replied, a smirk playing on his lips. “How’s your coding?”

“Better than your flirting,” you said with a grin. “Show me what you’ve got.”

Tony laughed, the sound rich and genuine. “I like you, Y/N. Let’s see if you can keep up.”

The rest of the morning flew by in a blur of code, circuits, and witty banter. You found yourself matching Tony’s pace, both in work and repartee. Around noon, he suggested a break.

“Lunch?” he asked, already heading towards the elevator.

“Sure,” you replied. “Where to?”

“There's a great sushi place down the street. Unless you’re one of those ‘I only eat kale’ types.”

“Only on Thursdays,” you said, making him laugh again.

At the restaurant, the conversation continued, the chemistry between you growing more palpable with every exchange. You learned that beneath his bravado, Tony was genuinely passionate about his work and surprisingly attentive.

“So, Y/N,” Tony said, leaning back in his chair, “what do you think of your first day?”

“Honestly?” you replied. “I think I’m going to like it here. But you’re going to have to step up your game if you want to keep up with me.”

“Oh, is that a challenge?” he asked, eyes gleaming.

“Absolutely,” you said, meeting his gaze head-on.

“Good. I like a challenge,” Tony replied, his voice dropping to a lower, more intimate tone.

You finished lunch and headed back to the office, the playful tension between you simmering just beneath the surface. As you worked through the afternoon, you couldn’t help but wonder where this unexpected connection might lead.

Tony glanced over at you, his eyes lingering a moment longer than necessary. “You know, Y/N, I think this is the beginning of a very interesting internship.”
