Date Night - Bruce B

Bruce was in the lab with Tony, as always, working on some new theory. You had been waiting for days for Bruce to take the time to take you out. He promised a week ago that he was planning on something special, but every night he was falling asleep in the lab. You would wake up alone, shaking your head expecting more, but nothing ever changed.

"Bruce!" You walk into the lab stopping in front of the desk he was sitting behind. Putting your hands on your hips you look down at him with pursed lips and a death glare.

"Oh shit, jolly green, someone's in trouble." Tony was behind him and had turned in his chair to watch the showdown.

"Y/N? I'm sorry; we have just been on the verge of a break through on this new theory. I'm not avoiding you. I promise!" He pulls his glasses of and rubs the bridge of his nose.

You cross your arms and start tapping your right foot. "That's not good enough. Your promises are worth shit right now."

"Hey, watch your language." Steve walks in to the lab and places his hand on your left shoulder. "I expect more form you."

"Bite me Steve!" You look over at Tony who has a grin on his face. "This is your doing isn't it?" You point to Tony about to take a step around the table as Steve grabs your arm.

"Easy tiger, we have all been pulling overtime on this new mission." Steve lets you go as you pull against his grasp.

Bruce stands up and grabs your hand walking you out to the hallway outside of the lab and hopefully prying ears.

"I'm really sorry hun, I lost track of all time. You know I get lost in this when I get started. Let me make it up to you. Why don't you go upstairs and put on something nice and I'll meet you in the lobby in thirty minutes." He grabs both of your hands in his giving you those puppy dog eyes.

You look down from your hands up to his eyes. "Ok, but this is your last chance."

He leans down and kisses your cheek before turning back to walk into the lab. You shake your head and walk over to the elevator.

Thirty minutes later you walk out of the elevator into the lobby in a short black dress with matching black pumps. You notice Happy standing over by the front door talking to Tony. Great stood up again.

"Tony?" You call out as you cross the floor. Your heels clacking as you quicken your pace to the two of them.

Tony turns and his eyes grow wide at the sight of you. "Y/N? Wow!"

"Yeah, yeah, where's Bruce?" You stop shy of them afraid you would get too close and have to punch Tony for keeping him busy once again in the lab all night.

"I'm right here." You turn around and see him waling up in a black suit with a deep forest green tie. He did clean up well, when he wanted to.

"Happy will be taking you two this evening, so get wild, get crazy, get kinky." He turns to you and winks before he walks off.

"Blow me Stark!" You call after him.

"Shall we?" Happy reaches for the door, opening it for the two of you to walk through.

"So, what's the plan?" You take Bruce's arm as he walks you out to the town car.

"That's a surprise." He opens the door for you and helps you into the car.

He gets in then Happy starts driving down the road. It was dark and quiet, peaceful. You scoot over next to Bruce snuggling up into his side. He wraps his arm around you and kisses the top of your head. After about thirty minutes of driving the car comes to a stop in a clearing of the road. It was out in the middle of nowhere, high above the city. Bruce gets out as Happy opens your door taking your hand as you step out.

"Thanks Happy, but this is a little creepy right?" You look up at him as he has a cheesy grin on his face. "What are you hiding?"

"Just relax." He giggles and walks back to the driver side door and gets back into the car.

"Are you ready?" Bruce wraps his arm around your waist and leads you down a path lit up by tea lights. The closer you got to where you were the more candles there were.

As the trees cleared you saw a gazebo covered with twinkling lights and a table set for two. You stop in your tracks to gasp at the sight.

"Oh my god, Bruce its beautiful." Turning to him your pull him in for a hug. He pulls back then leans down and kisses your lips gently.

"Only the best for you!" He takes your hand and walks toward the table. "I told you it would be worth the wait."

"You always are." You pull him in for another kiss before sitting down to enjoy an amazing meal under the stars.
