Standing there in front of the large mirror of my bathroom, gripping the sink with both hands. The steam from the hot water filling the room. I bawl up my right fist, drawing it back, then sent it into the mirror at full force. The glass shatters all around me. Standing there frozen in time but shaking from the pain. The red rushing from my knuckles, dropping into the sink. As the red covers the broken glass, the shine dulls.

"Why?" I scream out at the wall now exposed behind where the mirror once was.

My hand reaches down to grab one of the smaller pieces in the sink. Stumbling back against the door, I slide down to the floor. The tears now flowing freely, clouding my vision. Gripping the shard in my hand I hold it out in front of me. As I slowly bring the glass down to my arm, a hand grips mind pulling it away.

Looking up my eyes are met with Bucky's baby blues. The calm washes over me as my grip releases on the glass. It hits the ground as it shatters around me. He pulls my hand up in front of his face, inspecting my knuckles.

"What are you doing?" His deep voice sucked the air from my lungs. "I don't know what is going on, but this is not the answer."

His arms wrapped around me, pulling me up off the floor. Walking me over to the sink he places my hand under the water. He was so gentle with me, caring and concern were radiating off him.

"How did you know I was in here?" My voice broke as I spoke, trying to hold back the tears.

"I was walking down the hallway and heard you scream." He reaches behind me, grabbing a towel to wrap around my hand. "By the way, you may need a new door." He looked up from my hand, meeting my gaze, as a slight smirk creeps up on the right side of his face.

My shoulders drop as a sigh rushes from my lips. "Bucky...."

"Look I'll let Tony know. You can stay in my room until they get it fixed. I'll sleep on the couch in the common room. Don't worry." As he finishes wrapping my hand, he turns to the door of the bathroom, gently guiding me through it.

"Please don't tell anyone." My voice was no more than a whisper at this point.

His arms wrapped around me, picking me up. He carried me out of my room and down the hall to his. After opening the door, he walks me over to the bed. Laying me down he pulls out a smaller blanket, draping it over me. He tucked in the sides, then leaned down, placing a soft kiss on my forehead.

"Stay here. I'll go get some stuff to treat your hand." His hand reaches out, brushing the hair from my face. There was a warmth of his skin against my cheek.

"Thank you." Another whisper from me as I pulled the blanket closer to my body.

"You don't have to apologize." He turns back to the door. "I get it."

After a few minutes he came back into the room with a small black box under his left arm and a bottle of water in his right hand. He sets the bottle down on the nightstand next to me before sitting on the edge of the bed. He takes his time cleaning the mess I had made of my hand.

"Promise me something." He finally spoke breaking the silence in the room.

I look up from my hand and watch as he takes his time to wrap the wound. The wrinkles on his forehead as he was making sure that he was being gentle enough to not hurt me any more than I am.

"What's that?" I reach out to place my hand on top of his.

He looks up from my hand, tilting his head to the side. "Don't do this again."

I started to open my mouth, but his finger is placed over my lips. Closing my mouth, I sit up crossing my legs as he fiddles with the first aid kid next to him.

"Promise me if you ever get to this point again, you call me. I will always answer for you. No matter what!" His voice was stern, and the look on his face would intimidate anyone who didn't know him the way I did.

"But Bucky..." I couldn't get the words out before the tears started to fall from my face.

"No buts, I mean it! I can't lose you." He leaned down and kissed me on the cheek. He stood up and motioned for me to lay back down. "It's late, you need to get some rest." He fixes the blanket so that is was covering me again before turning back to the door.

He took a few large steps before stopping to place his hand on the doorknob. As he pauses, he drops his shoulders, turning the doorknob pulling open the door.

"Bucky?" I tried to call out to him, but it was so muffled from the tears. "Wait..."

He turns to look back at me, the pain written all over his face. "Yeah?"

"Please.....stay..." The words were hard enough for me to hear, I had no idea how he heard them.

Without saying a word, he closes the door and walks over to the other side of the bed. "Are you sure?" He scans the bed between me and where he was standing.

"Please?" Was all I could utter.

He kicks off his shoes and lays down on the other side of the bed, placing both of his arms above his head. My nerves were shot from the events of the day that all I wanted was to be protected and comforted.

I roll over and place my head on his shoulder. He was stiff at first, but after a few minutes he places his arm behind me. "Thank you." I whisper into his warm chest. His smell wrapped around me like a calming wave.

"Anything for you doll" Was the last thing I remember being said before drifting off into a deep sleep.
