I was on a mission with him. Or rather, he had brought a Grade 4 cursed spirit along. It was hideous. Fat and 6 meters tall, it was covered in rolls of flesh, eyes bulging out, muttering something incomprehensible. I swallowed hard at the sight.

He glanced at me. "Are you scared?"

I scoffed. "No, it just looks really disgusting."

He grinned. "There are far more disgusting ones out there."

I grimaced, my mind conjuring up even worse scenarios. I sighed.

He crossed his arms over his chest. "Absorb its power."

I looked at him, taking a deep breath, then turned my gaze back to the monster. Its eyes locked onto me as I extended my arm towards it. Closing my eyes, I focused. I could feel the concentrated energy around me. My hair began to rise.

I needed to connect with the monster!

I searched, searched, searched.

There it was!

I could feel its cursed energy flowing into me.

It felt so fulfilling... so good... like I was being recharged.

I grinned slyly.

I felt free!

As I completely absorbed its energy, the monster panicked, attacking me with its inhuman hand. I grew serious and shot it back with its own energy, which pierced it, causing it to fall to the ground and slowly disintegrate.

Eagerly, I turned to Gojo, my eyes probably gleaming with excitement. "How was I?"

He clapped his hands. "Very good, you're learning fast."

He pushed off from the wall, and I felt genuinely pleased every time he praised me... like a little girl.

He ruffled my hair, letting his hand glide through it as if he wanted to feel its texture. I looked up at him.

Too bad he was wearing his blindfold.

He finally removed his hand, placed it on my shoulder, and we returned to the training field.

I stretched. "Is that it?"

He nodded. "For today, yes. I don't want you to overstrain your power."

I nodded back. "See you tomorrow then."

"See you tomorrow."

We went our separate ways.

Apparently, he wasn't going home today... strange. I wondered where he was going.

Oh well...
