Two days had passed peacefully. Mori was still not home, and I enjoyed life with my mother. We sat on the floor, and she gave me an extra portion of rice and salad. I hungrily stuffed everything into my mouth. She watched me eat as if I were a portrait, although I was sure I looked more like a beast.
Suddenly, she said, "You and Gojo..."
The rice in my mouth caused me to choke, and I pounded my chest until she rushed to give me water.
I swallowed everything down, took a deep breath, and looked at her nervously. "Yeah?"
She smiled and raised her eyebrows. "Is something going on between you two?"
All the blood rushed to my face, and I had to defend myself, even setting my bowl aside.
I raised my hands protectively in front of me. "No, no, you've got it all wrong!"
She raised her eyebrows even more, and I swallowed hard, sighing. "No, it's just..."
I stared down.
How could I explain it to her when I didn't even understand it myself?
A short silence followed. "There's nothing between us, but we've had an argument and are avoiding each other."
I said the last part more quietly. I sat back down and stared at my bowl of rice.
Her voice was gentle. "Kanna..."
I turned my head to her hopefully.
She continued, "One shouldn't make hasty decisions in an argument." She sighed. "If you know it's your fault, then apologize. Otherwise..." She looked away, and sadness came over her face. "You'll lose someone over something stupid."
I looked at her, astonished. In my 22 years, I had never seen this side of her. I glanced back at my bowl.
But actually he is not that important to me...or?
Now, I stood in front of him defiantly. My ego was too high to apologize, so I had to turn the tables and make it look like I was doing all this just to become a teacher!
And now, on the training ground, he was telling me that electricity wasn't the true nature of my strength.
I took an eager step forward. "What? What do you mean?"
His Six Eyes practically glowed.
I wondered what it was like to be in his body and see through those eyes.
He leaned back, grinning broadly. "I'm seriously considering whether to tell you."
I scoffed in disbelief. "Seriously? Please!"
His grin widened. "And if I don't?"
I took an angry step forward. "Gojo, I have a right to know!"
