I felt his presence. He had proven many things to me. Gojo... I smiled and headed toward him. I knew it could be a trap, but still. I sensed the presence of Megumi—no, Sukuna. I looked in the direction of a loud bang. I need to hurry. The old debris lay on the ground. Trees destroyed, memories playing before my eyes.
Me as a little child running here in the garden until my father came home, and I had to hide again. The small pond dried up, debris in it. I stopped before a bird with a crushed wing. I knelt and gently picked it up. It chirped painfully. I bit my lip.
My heart ached for this bird. "I'm sorry, my little friend... this place hasn't been kind to you either, but... I'll end your suffering now."
The bird looked at me as if it understood what I said, then it grew quiet. I activated my technique and killed it quickly and painlessly. Its wings were broken; it would never fly again, which would be worse than anything for it.
"You've become quite cold."
I looked up and let the bird's ashes scatter with the wind. I cleaned my hands and stood up. Seeing him after a year was like a sword through my heart.
"Aren't you going to greet your father?"
I clasped my hands behind my back and looked around. "Were you part of the plan? Or rather, did you sic Kenjaku on me?"
He kept his hands hidden in his yukata as always. He had changed, grown thinner, gotten dark circles, his beard longer.
Oh God, how I hate him.
Another louder, larger explosion followed by two more shook the air, blowing my hair to the side. I had to squint slightly. I looked in that direction.
Gojo and Sukuna! My heart raced. Gojo... am I worried about him?
I swallowed hard. I looked back at my father, who coughed away the dust. He waved his hand dismissively.
"Yes, I had Kenjaku go after my foolish daughter."
I scoffed. "Nothing else to expect."
I looked towards the fallen tree in the middle, where I often played. I grinned and walked in that direction. "Do you remember when I used to play here with my mother, your wife, whom you killed, and then you locked me up because I had fun?"
I looked at him. He laughed and laughed. It felt like centipedes crawling into my ear. My blood boiled, but I didn't show it.
His laughter turned into a sigh. "Please don't mention her."
I raised an eyebrow in some hope. "Do you have guilt?"
He laughed so loudly it scared me. I looked at him with furrowed brows. I was very angry. He wiped a tear away, and nearby a whole building was destroyed. The next wind gust hit us with small debris.
"She didn't tell you, did she?"
I looked confused. "What are you talking about?"
My heart raced so fast. I got nervous.
He looked at me as if he didn't recognize me. "You're not my daughter."
We stared at each other for what felt like an eternity but was only 30 seconds. I didn't notice my surroundings anymore.
I scoffed in disbelief. "What are you talking about!"
He's not lying... I can tell by his stance... those eyes when he's serious.
"Your mother was pregnant with you by another man while she was still married to me, and I wanted to kill her back then." My stomach twisted. I forgot how to breathe. Had the universe stolen the oxygen? My legs grew weak. Tears welled up so fast I couldn't control them.
I stepped forward in horror. "DOES THAT MEAN YOU DID ALL THIS TO ME BECAUSE I WASN'T YOUR BIOLOGICAL DAUGHTER?!!!"
I screamed my soul out. The wounds inside me opened, sprinkled with salt. My chest heaved up and down so fast.
I cried out, "ANSWER ME!!!"
He looked at me again as if it were an eternity.
His gaze pierced me. "I had no personal hatred towards you, but every time I looked at you, I saw a stranger, and I had to make her suffer by making you suffer."
I gasped, shocked, and fell to my knees. I didn't feel real. He's lying, right? The next strong wind blew into us as half a building crashed into something. Tears rolled down.
I didn't deserve this! No, no, no.
I pounded the ground in despair. "I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU!!!"
He said nothing, and I was surprised. "The reason I didn't kill you was because I wanted you to bear your mother's sin."
I felt so nauseous. I pulled at my hair. "Stop..."
He continued, "You never meant anything to me."
I gritted my teeth. "Stop..."
His last words hit like a slap. "I even pitied you sometimes."
I didn't even realize how quickly I was in front of him, swinging so hard I sent him flying through three buildings, which collapsed in on him. My fist hurt. Everything hurt. I stood up and teleported to him, lifting him by the collar. He bled profusely from his nose, half-dead. I felt nothing... absolutely nothing. I let go and punched his chin from below, likely breaking it.
I hit him from right and left repeatedly until he fell, and I kept hitting. His blood splattered on me. His face slowly turned to mush. His body lay motionless.
Am I still Kanna?
My fists hurt badly. My arms grew tired. I stopped, my hands filled with blood. He looked like squashed marmalade. I struggled to my feet, my legs weak. He moved his little finger, and I froze. Everything grew silent. He should be dead now... I turned slowly to leave.
"K-Kwanna."
I stopped. He couldn't even say my name right. I turned my head towards him. He tried to lean against the wall with his last strength.
His teeth half gone, blood-soaked. "D-Do you... know why he took M-Megumi?"
My eyes widened. I turned completely. "What do you mean?"
The area around us slowly turned purple. I looked at the sky.
GOJO!
I looked back at him, panicked.
He grinned. "Mahoraga... the monster that can adapt to anything."
At that moment, I understood everything.
He fell to his knees and collapsed, dead.
I trembled with fear and abruptly teleported to the scene as everything around us exploded.
"GOJOOOOO!"
