Y/n's pov

After he dropped me off I went to my room and changed into pj's. Grabbed my pillow and blankets and headed over to Dana's for our sleepover. I knocked on the door and I didn't have to wait long until it was opened. "Y/n! You made it come on in!" She greets and steps aside for me to walk in. Which I do and she shuts the door behind us.

There was music playing from her speaker but it was faint, probably to make sure she didn't wake anyone. There were snacks on a table for us to eat. "Wanna watch a movie and gossip?" She asks. "Of course!" I reply. She puts on a movie and we start talking. I told her all about the meeting with Andy as well as the weird encounter with Courtney. She told me about Trevor and how she is surprised that him and her got together but she's glad and she likes the scene he's in.

She asked me about Nathan. "Last night after the party he asked me to be his prom date, which I said yes of course." I told her and her face turned into a huge smile. "Oh my god!!! How did he do it? Tell me every detail!"

"Well, he told me to meet him behind the dj booth area and I did. There were fairy lights and in the sand was written, 'prom?' And I ran over to him, kissed him, and told him yes." I explain what happened , to her. "That's so sweet. You get to see such a different part of Nathan. He's changed so much since you guys got together, I mean sophomore year he threw scissors at the math teacher. Don't even get me started on the amount of Desks that he would throw and flip. He was out of control. I always felt bad for the kid and you've definitely helped him." Dana says to me and I smile. I do remember Nathan being crazy and doing scary things like that. That story reminded me of one time way before we started dating it was a theater practice and he kept messing up and he got so angry he punched a hole into one of the background props, that I had just finished.

"Yeah, he's...I don't know is it cringe to say misunderstood?" I ask. "Not at all, if I were to describe anyone like that it'd be Nathan. How's the project with Warren going?" She asks. "Great! It made me realize what I wanted to do for the rest of my life." I tell her. "And what would that be?" "A psychiatrist for those who struggle with addiction. I started my application before I had dinner with Andy."

Nathan's pov:

While y/n was having dinner with Andy I was unfortunately having dinner with my family. It was last minute because my sister came to town this morning. We were all quietly eating, the only noise being the grandfather clock ticking. That is until my sister interrupts the quietness and asks, "so Nathan, isn't prom coming up?" I look up at her from my plate and say, "yeah, two week." Simply. "Well I assume you asked y/n?" She asks. I notice both my mother and father's head perk up as to listen to what I have to say. Nervously I reply, "uh...yeah. Last night actually." Then I continue eating hoping to move on.

"With out my permission?" My father asks. I take a deep breath and give Kristine a glare for bringing the topic up. "Dad, I don't want to argue." I say simply. His fist hit on the table and he shouts, "well I don't want you to embarrass the Prescott name!" "Cmon honey, we've met the girl she's awfully nice, and Nathan's matured so much since they met." My mom defends. "Tell y/n you won't be going with her, and instead of you want to go you will go with someone of class. Like the Chase's daughter." My father tells me referring to Victoria.

"No dad, I'm going with y/n." I say quietly but also standing my ground. "Excuse me?" He asks. Before I could say anything Kristine cuts me off, "how about mom and I take her shopping! That way she looks presentable and uh she doesn't embarrass you." She suggests to our dad. Puts the napkin from his lap and slams it on the table and dramatically gets up making his chair screech as it moves back. "Fine, not like you can disappoint me anymore than you already have."

He storms off to his office and mom jumps as we hear the door slam. I groan in annoyance. "Sorry Nate, I thought he was cool with her, I mean you guys have been together for so long I figured he'd finally excepted it..." Kristine apologizes. "Well you know how your father is..." mom chimes in. "It's whatever, he's just...gonna have to get over it and I'm not gonna let him make this decision for me." I defend.

The three of us finish our food silently. When it was time for me to leave, my mom and sister walk me to the foyer and I hug them goodbye. Before I walk out my mom says, "just let us know whenever miss y/l/n is available to go shopping." "I will mom goodbye guys." I say and leave in my truck.
