Tarini's Pov :
I had walked out of Sisodia Mansion only to see him standing near his car, going through something in his phone while tapping his foot on the floor impatiently.
This man is bipolar, I thought looking at him. He had left the dining table half an hour back, barely eating anything with the excuse that he was late, and now he was still here. He is the one to say things like Time is money, and I don't like people who have no value of time.I lowkey laughed imitating him in my mind.
"Didn't you say you had an important meeting? What happened then?" I voiced out my question, turning his attention towards me. He glanced at me releasing a deep breath while keeping his phone in his pocket.
"Actually, I got an important call, and then I remembered the file which I left in the hall." He said, returning to his poker face expression, making me look at him doubtfully.
When Mr.Aviraj-the-punctual-Sisodia does not speak more than a few words to people except for his family, he wants me to believe that he spent thirty minutes on a call and surely it won't take this long to get a file from the hall. Also, he seemed like waiting for something. But why would he lie to me on this? Leave it, how does it matter to me? But was someone so important on the call that it took this long? I came out of my thoughts hearing his voice.
"Sorry, what did you say?"
"I was saying you can come with me. I'll drop you on the way." He offered, and I had no reason to decline. I nodded my head in agreement and wait... Did I just see a slight smile on his lips?That too for me? Or I am being delusional?
As he opened the door of the passenger seat for me, I couldn't help but wonder if he was waiting for me? Before I could make more of my not-so-hopeless scenarios in my head, a staff member interrupted, coming with the file, which he handed to Aviraj and went away. So that means he was waiting for the file.
Taking the driving seat, he started the car, and we headed out of the mansion. None of us tried to initiate a conversation. For me, I had nothing to talk to him or maybe I had a lot to talk about, but my heart wasn't ready for the confrontation. It has been eight months since we got married and everything has been a roller-coaster. So much in this short period, things between us changed from good to bad to eventually even worse.
And, now? I have no idea of the direction in which the things between us were moving. As I looked out, I wondered if everything between us would have been different if that day hadn't happened? Maybe there would have been more between us to explore and realize.
"Tarini, you know my friend Yuvaan, he had returned to India from US after a long time. He had invited both of us to have dinner with him and his fiance."
He finally broke the silence between us. I looked at him registering what he wanted, when he glanced at me hopefully. At the same time, his mobile rang diverting both of our attention to it.
