Tarini's Pov:
I approached Abhyudit, who was still seated in the same spot since last night. His eyes were closed and head rested against the wall.
"Abhyudit?" I said softly, holding a cup of coffee in hand.
He opened his eyes, and looked at me as I forwarded him coffee. "Thank you," he murmured, before checking time in his phone. It was nine in the morning.
"Where is bhaiya?" He asked, switching off the screen.
"He said he has to make a call." Just as I replied, Aviraj made his way toward us. He appeared serious, and I could read the tensed expression on his face.
"What happened, Aviraj? Is everything alright?" I asked, and his gaze traveled between Abhyudit and me, contemplating whether to answer or not.
"The shooter escaped," he said, frustration and anger evident in his voice. He added, "The guards followed, but failed to catch him."
Abhyudit pinched the bridge of his nose, and sighed before uttering, "they are useless."
"You were his target," he turned to Aviraj, narrowing his eyes, "do you suspect anyone who will attack you?"
"Initially, I doubted Khurana, but now I am unsure. He is struck in huge crises, and is more focused on hiding himself. I don't think he would plan to stretch enmity with us." Aviraj said, and his words made sense. It must be someone who was close to us and knew our whereabouts. He had a long list of rivals, and it is not easy to point finger at anyone on the basis of our assumptions.
"The CCTV footage of parking area can help you know some details about the shooter." They shifted their attention to me hearing my suggestion.
"I had told naman to arrange that." Aviraj said, and at the same time, I saw Papa coming toward us.
I stood up from the bench along with Abhyudit and Aviraj turned back to look at him. Papa was out of Mumbai for some trip related to business, but when Aviraj called him last night and informed about Aayansh, he cancelled his schedule. He had rushed back overnight to be here for his son.
"How is your brother?" He asked, the distress was clear in his voice.
"He is out of danger, but in ICU. Doctors are waiting for him to wake up." Abhyudit updated him, giving him details of what doctors told us.
"Who was behind the attack?" He questioned, darting his gaze to Aviraj, who replied, "We will find out soon."
"Three of you, go home for sometime. I will stay here." Papa instructed after a brief pause, not stretching the previous topic.
"You just came after a long journey, Papa. We will–" I uttered, when he interrupted in mid, shooting a no-argument look.
"I am sure you all haven't rested even for few minutes since last night. You are going back." His authoritative tone left no room for further discussion.
