Jivika's Pov :
Walking up to the table, I fake coughed, making both the men turn their heads in my direction. One of them looked at me pleased and the other confused. Like I care.
"Good Afternoon, Jivika. I was waiting for you." Sohail, who was my client said politely. I apologized to him for getting late, blaming the traffic. It was half truth.
"It's okay. By the way meet my friend, Aayansh, coincidentally I met him when I came here." He added, while my eyes were already fixed on the one who was standing there in all his glory and whose presence was unwanted.
"Oh, Hi Jivika." He said for formality, looking at me blankly. I guess that has become his permanent look.
Your presence makes me feel like haaye-haaye and you are saying hi. I wanted to reply but I kept quite and passed him a tight lipped smile, nodding my head.
"Did you say something to me?" He glared at me as if he heard my mind. Huh, it was not a story where I would say out all the things loud. Meanwhile, Sohail got a call and excused himself, leaving both of us alone.
"Nahi, tumhare kaan baj rahe honge." I told him, to which he rolled his eyes murmuring something.
(No. Your ears must be ringing.)
He stepped ahead to leave only to get his foot entangled in the leg of the table. Involuntarily, my hand reached his to make sure he did not lose balance. Our eyes locked for a second before he jerked my hand away and held the table for support.
"Ouch, I would have fallen because of you. Kaali billi ki tarah raaste mai hi khadi ho gayi ho." He glared at me again after standing on his feet.
(You are standing in my way like a black cat.)
Did he just snap at me? And...did he just call me 'kaali billi', when I actually helped him? How dare he? Aayansh Sisodia has done Phd. in getting on my nerves.
"You know what, I should have let you fall, but I just saved you pitying your brain, which is in your knees. So sorry." I couldn't help but smirk at his reaction on hearing my reply. He pointed his index finger toward me as his eyes widened, and I pushed his finger down with mine, mirroring his expression. All I could see was red on his face. The fire inside me died down to some extent.
"You–" Before he could bring up something, Sohail came back and looked between us with a question mark on his face.
I took a step back on my place and passed him a small smile, making the environment a bit normal.
