Author's Pov:
Shirina glance at Abhyudit, sitting on the opposite side, his eyes were fixed on the screen. He looked off due to some reason or maybe she was overthinking. Not like they goosip daily and today it was different. This silence was used to accompany them. The meeting had wrapped up and others were already out, leaving two of them alone in the conference room. Rudra's words play in her mind from last evening but she shrugs the thought."May I leave, Sir?" She asks, collecting the files.
"Go ahead."
He tells her and she makes her way to exit. As she reaches for the door handle, she makes an attempt to open it but the door doesn't bulge. She tries to pull harder, but it remains struck.
"Sir, I think the door is jammed." Shirina turns to Abhyudit, who shifts his attention back to her.
"I will see."
She makes space for him when he walks towards her to examine the door. Grasping the handle, he pulls it firmly but gets no result.
"Door is not moving. Looks like we are struck." Abhyudit looks at Shirina, who has the 'i said the same thing' expression pasted on her face. A single glare from him was enough to erase that look from her face. He walks away from her while a small smirk makes way to his lips.
"We should call someone to open it from outside." She tells him, following him closely.
"I have left my phone in the cabin. Where is yours?" Abhyudit asks her, taking back his seat. She looks at him confused when he resumes his work, thinking, if he was worried or not?
"My phone's dead." Shirina shows him the dead screen, making him frown.
"So, you are carrying this dead phone as a fashion statement."
Hearing him, she turns her face away in embarrassment. "No, I forgot to charge it." She tells him, after murmuring something under her breath.
"Great, isn't it? So, sit and assist me in this." He shifts from sarcastic to serious in a moment, leaving her annoyed.
"Are you not worried? How we will go out?" She voices out her question and sits beside him, recalling that the floor usually remained empty.
"During the break, someone will come to clean this room and open the door from outside. Relax." He replies to her, noticing there was more than an hour left for the break. It's not like they had any problem staying with each other in the closed space for a longer period. Well, he didn't mind.
Abhyudit hears her let out a frustrated sigh, looking at him. "Don't you get tired of working, Sir?" She finally asks him, stressing on the last word.
She wonders how the man sitting next to her always remained glued with his laptop and files, that too without getting tired. Heck, she even gets bored of scrolling videos on social media after some time and here he runs his brain all day long.
