THANDO
The following morning I wake up with an uneasy feeling which I brush off not wanting to dwell much into it. I arrive at school and as I walk to my class I see Matthew who's talking to one of Treys teacher looking handsome wearing his three piece suit and scoff opening the door to my classroom.
"How dare he looks that handsome while I look like shit?" I ask to no one in the class. I walk to my table where I see my favorite flowers already in a vase and a note with Matthews handwriting.
Does he honestly think sending me flowers will solve everything?
I take the flowers and open the door coming face to face with the man that bought them staring at me as his manly scent invade my nose.
Seriously, does he also have to smell this good?
"I bought those for you." He tells as he looks at me with alarmed eyes.
"Do you think buying me flowers solve everything?" I ask him as I move from where he's standing and giving them to one of the cleaning ladies in the hallway. I walk back inside my class without acknowledging him and start sorting out my table when I see him walking inside and close the door.
"Open that door right this minute and get out Matthew." I tell him but instead of doing what I'm saying he crowd my space walking to where I'm standing forcing me to back up to the wall.
"What do you think you are doing?"
Move I don't want to be near you, I don't want to be near you.
"Have dinner with me tonight." He tells me as he stares into my eyes and I stare back noticing how tired he looks.
"No." I say as confident as I can. "You can't just walk in here and demand that I have dinner with you like everything is okay between us." I remind him trying to escape him as I push him but the stubborn man doesn't move an inch.
"Please baby." He begs with so much sadness in his eyes I almost agree.
"We broke up Matthew."
"Don't." He says as he shake his head eyes closed. "Please don't say that."
"Whatever, I have a class which I'm preparing for and I want my students to find me prepared."
"Alright but this is not the last time you'll see me Thando, no matter what it takes I will make sure that you forgive me because you belong with me." He tells me as he kiss my forehead longer than necessary and I instantly miss him as he walks out without a word.

I get that weird feeling again as I drive back home warning me that something terrible is about to happen but ignore it again. I finally get inside my house opening the door and as soon as I walk inside I see Miranda standing there holding up a gun which is pointed at me. I startle and I'm  about to scream when she shakes her head in warning.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you. If you want to stay alive be a good girl and come sit down."
My whole body is shaking as I walk to my living room sitting down. I search for any kind of item to use as self defense on my couch but find nothing.
I'm never again cleaning my house as thorough as I always do after this.
"What do you want Miranda?" I ask trying to come up with a plan to get out of here safe.
She shouts at me pointing the guy directly at me. "For you to die so that I can finally have some peace with my family."
The word die shocks me and instill fear in me I've never felt.
Is this honestly how I'm going to leave the world? In the hands of this madwoman?
"We can talk about this." I tell her trying to reason with her but her eyes looks nothing like someone who's willing to talk this out.
"You wouldn't listen to my warnings, I sent you a note but you still wouldn't leave my family alone."
Fuck, I knew that note was from her and why the hell didn't I tell Matthew about it I don't know.
"I did." I tell her as I think of what to say.
"Do you think I'm stupid? Just two days ago you where at my house acting all tough and threatening me."
"And that's exactly the day I broke it off with Matthew because I believed every word you said about him calling you and the kiss." I tell her hoping she'll believe me and sit there as she looks at me as if to see if I'm telling the truth.
After a minute she shakes her head. "I don't believe you, you're lying to me." She continue shaking her head I fear it might fall off.
"Believe me, I don't want to do this but you have to die in order for me to get my family back. Only I deserve Matthew and not you." She nods as if to convince herself. "You brought all of this to yourself and you only have yourself to blame."
Jesus, when have my life turned into this? I push the fear that I feel at the back of my head as I try to come up with a plan to take away that gun on her shaking hands and call for help immediately.
"You did this to yourself and unfortunately there's no going back." She points the gun at me with determination. I see the moment she decides she's going to kill me with the look on her face and I charge at her throwing her to the floor as we wrestle for the gun. The gun flies somewhere in the floor and I crawl going for it when Miranda drags me by my feet causing me to fall on my face and lands a punch in my stomach.
I feel the air leave my lungs as she lands another punch on my right eye this time which I'm sure will leave a mark. I use every bit of my strength to kick her in the stomach as I try to get up but the bitch recovers and run for the gun then points it at me.
"I've actually decided on something else. Today, right here we will die together because I know Matthew will not forgive me for killing you. So if he can't have me then he can't have you too."
Time stands still as she point the gun at me and she fires at me two times. One bullet lands on my shoulder and the other somewhere near my stomach and I stare at her as she put the gun on her head and shoot herself in the head and stumble down her blood all over my carpet.
They say your life flash right in front of your eyes when you're about to die and I suppose that's true because images of my life flash before me. My life with my friends, my family, my students, Trey and a smiling Matthew that somehow looks as if he's really here smiling at me.
I pray right there that since we couldn't make it in this lifetime we find our way to each other in our next life and last a lifetime this time around.
"I love you so much Matthew." I murmur hearing voices of people in the distant as I touch my stomach and fall down welcoming the darkness.
