THANDO
Matthew and I have been officially together for a month now and I can safely say it's been the best one month of my life. Him and I have been going out on different dates spending quality time as much as possible with our busy schedules and having a lot of mind blowing sex.
I haven't yet told my friends about my relationship with Matthew and each day I feel more guilty about keeping my relationship a secret and I fear my friends will be able to see on my face that I'm in love and I wouldn't be able to hide it when they ask who's the guy I'm seeing.
"It's good to have you home my love. I was about to come get you myself." My mother's voice brings me back to the moment.
I nod my head agreeing with her as I enjoy the good dish that she prepared for me. I came home Friday afternoon surprising my parents but today it's Sunday which means tomorrow I'm going back to LA back. As much as I love my parents and this visit been good for my soul I can't wait to get back home and see Matthew.
We've both been constantly calling and texting but it's not enough. All I want is to be in his arms cuddled up and getting my ass squeezed constantly.
"This is really good mom. Really thank you for cooking all of my favorites." I say as I enjoy my food.
"Lucky you." My father says next to me and I look at me wondering what he means by that.
"What do you mean?" I ask with a mouthful of food.
"Well Thando, your mother here hardly cooks me my favorite dishes anymore." He says pretending to sulk and I burst out laughing.
"What are you talking about?" My mom asks offended.
"Don't play dumb Yolanda. You know very well what I'm talking about."
"I assure you I do not." My mom tells him as I look between them as they both glare at each other and I can't tell whether my mom is playing dumb or she really doesn't know what my dad is talking about.
"Last weekend I asked for fried chicken but all I got was vegetables. You've been feeding me vegetables for the whole week woman" He scoffs clearly unimpressed with eating veggies for the whole week.
Oh, oh. He must have done something to really piss off his wife then.
No one pisses my mom then goes unpunished.
"From where I'm sitting I see a grown man fully capable of cooking himself any meal he wants. If you want something stand up and get it done yourself." She tells him and my dads mouth opens wide in shock with his wife's answer.
"Come on Mom, at least tell him what he's getting punished for." I plead with her on behalf of my father.
"Oh he knows very well. Eat before I feed you veggies as well young lady." She tells me seriously and I take my plate holding it closer to me before she grabs it.
"Sorry dad." I apologize and as if he remembers something his eyes open wide.
"Yolanda, please don't tell me this punishment is because I didn't talk to you while I was watching football."
"Good thing you remember. How many times have I told you not to ignore me when you're watching your football?" My mom says with a bored expression on her face.
"Come on, you know it's not like that sweetheart."
"It is." She says pouting.
My father's hand reaches for my mom on the table as he tenderly rubs on it. "Forgive me? I promise next time I will give you my full attention baby."
Oh! My dad still has some charms in him I see.
Good for you dad.
"Promise?"
"Promise."
"Alright" She says giving him a smile and he leans towards her giving her a kiss.
"Alright, enough of all the kissing. I'm sitting just right here remember?" I say pretending to gag but really glad my parents are still very much in love even after twenty-five years of marriage. The doorbell rings and my dad is about to stand up when I stop him.
"Are we expecting any visitors?" I ask as I stand up.
"No." They both answer at the same time.
I walk to the door opening it and see a delivery guy standing with Tulip flowers in a vase in his hands.
"Hi Miss. I have a delivery for Thando Khumalo."
"Hi. I'm Thando." I tell him as he hands me a signing board. "Please sign here for me." He says and I sign right away.
"These are for you. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday." He says handing me my favorite flowers.
"Thank you." I say as I take my flowers smiling wide as I inhale them enjoying how good they smell. I close the door walking to the kitchen and put them safely on the counter before reading the note that came with them.
Thando. My gorgeous girl. I miss you so much and I've come so close to flying all the way to Texas just to see you but I've stopped myself knowing how important it is for you to spend your full time with your parents. I'm counting down the days till you get back and I get to see your beautiful face and squeeze that ass of yours.
But in the meantime I hope when you get these they will bring a smile on your beautiful face.
xo: Yours Matthew.
A happy tear fall off my face and I brush it off overcome with happiness. For most of my life I've only loved Matthew and prayed for us to be together one day and now as I live that prayer I can't help being thankful to God for blessing me with this man. Although we both haven't said the three words to each other which I'll confess I've come close to saying a few times I can't help feeling like he truly is my soulmate and the person I'm going to spend the rest of my life with.
"Thando." My dad yells probably wondering what's keeping me in the kitchen for so long.
"I'm coming dad." I yell back walking back in the living room.
"Who was at the door?" My mom asks the moment I walk in.
"A delivery guy. Kayla and Jasmine got someone to deliver flowers for me as a reminder of their love for me." I lie taking my phone on the table. "Excuse me for a minute. I want to call them and say my thank yous."
"Okay. Greet them on our behalf as well."
"Alright." I say as I jog by the stairs and enter my childhood room closing the door behind me. I waste no time dialing Matthew's number waiting as it rings once then he answers.
"Hi baby." His deep husky voice greets me.
"Hi." I say breathlessly. "How are you?"
How does he get me so mushy and giddy within a minute?
"I'm all good. How's my girl?"
I love when he calls me his girl.
"She's good and how's my man?" I ask him and by his silence I know I've surprise him.
"Your man huh?"
"All mine." I say blushing like a schoolgirl.
"Yours." He says without hesitation. "What are you doing?"
"I just got my flowers delivered while eating but had to rush to my room to call you to say thank you."
"You're welcome baby."
"I also wanted to say I miss you and I can't wait to see you when I get back."
"When are you coming back?"
"Tomorrow."
"What time?"
"Quarter past two, why?"
"I'm just asking, no reason."
"Alright then. Can I ask you something"
He chuckles then says. "Go ahead"
"Why do you send me flowers everyday?"
The line is silence for a minute making me wonder if I've lost him but he clears his throat before he answer me. "I want to make up for all the years I've lost with you. I know it's going to take me forever but for as long as I'm alive I promise you'll get a vase full of your favorite flowers everyday. Wherever you are."
His words leaves me absolute speechless. If I had known he would be such an incredible boyfriend I would have persuaded him a very long time ago.
"Thando?" He calls my name his voice unsure and I clear my throat my voice full of emotions and love for him.
"I can't tell you how thankful I am to call you mine Matthew. You make me the happiest woman everyday. Words aren't enough but thank you." I say meaning every word.
This man makes me the happiest woman.
"No need to thank me baby. You deserve all the flowers in the world and I'm blessed to be the one who gets to give them to the prettiest woman in the entire world."
Love!
The only word that describes what I feel for this man!!
I just know he is the love of my life.
"Thank you." I say. "How's Trey?" I say changing the subject before I blurt how much I love him.
"He's all good. Currently taking a bath which he insisted on taking on his own without my help." He huffs but I still feel his love for his child in his voice still.
I giggle at that. I guess Troy is finally at the age where he thinks he can do everything on his own.
"He's growing very fast for my liking." I tell him.
"Don't remind me." He says and I hear Trey calling out for his father.
"Dad. Can you come help me real quick?"
"I'll be there in a minute." Matthew calls back.
"I'll call you before bed baby. Sorry to cut our call but I have to go."
"Talk to you later. Kiss Trey for me."
"Will do, bye."
"Bye." I say then hang up before walking back to the living room where I find the dining room cleaned up. I go to the kitchen where I find my dad washing the dishes and help out as while my mom watch her favorite show.
