CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN

MATTHEW
I open the door to my house allowing Thando to enter first but as soon as we enter the living room Trey comes running towards us. I prepare myself to catch him but he runs towards Thando instead who catches him in her arms and spins him around making my him laugh and giggle uncontrollably.
"Look daddy I'm spinning." Trey tells me sticking his tongue out.
"I see you."  I tell him giving him my full attention.
"Am I not getting any hugs?" I ask my son who's holding tight on Thando's hand pure happiness radiant on his face.
Trey rolls his eyes but hugs me anyway. "You already got like ten hugs from me today dad."
Both Thando and Thomas laugh at what my son says. Trey is growing up fast everyday and as much as I love watching his growth sometimes I just wish time could stand still for a minute so I can enjoy him like this for a bit.
"Hi Tom." Thando greets Thomas who's sitting on the couch looking between us.
"Hey Thando, long time no see."
Thomas stands up embracing Thando mouthing. "Holy fuck she's hot." as he hugs my girlfriend tightly mocking me and I roll my eyes at his silliness. Thando pulls out of the hug and I give him a look that says. "See? She's all mine." which he reads very well rolling his eyes.
"I hope I'll be seeing you a lot around Thando."
"I hope so too."
"Alright, I'm out. Matthew organize a brunch for us, I would like to get to know more of Thando now that she's your girlfriend." My idiot friend says as he kiss my girlfriends hand and want nothing more than to slap him from being so talkative and forward.
"Alright that's enough, it's time for you to leave." I tell him as I practically drag him to the door that leads to the garage. "You idiot, why did you say all of those things back there?" I scold him as soon as we're in the garage.
"What? Since when am I forbidden from talking to Thando?" Thomas mocks me as he glares at me.
"Today, you're officially forbidden from talking to my girlfriend. You're too forward for my liking." I tell him and he burst out laughing while I stand there watching him enjoy himself.
"Oh Matthew, my friend. It's good to have you back." He says as he regains his composure. "So you both are girlfriend and boyfriend then?"
"You're an idiot you know that? I just referred her as my girlfriend. Use your ears and listen."
"I'm glad you finally allowed yourself to be happy." Thomas tells me seriously as he pat my back. "Does Kayla and the family know yet?"
"No." I tell him rubbing my forehead. "But we're planning to tell them soon."
"Good. I'm happy for you brother." Thomas says as he hugs me. No one has ever witness me on my downfall like Thomas did hence I know he means every word he says and wants me to be really happy.
"Okay let me go. You on the other hand get inside before your family comes looking for you." He tells me as he gets inside his Bentley and drive out.
FAMILY.
Could I really have that with Thando? And is that something she's ready to have with me one day?
Could the three of us really be a family.
But the most important question is, am I truly ready to fully trust her and let her in?
I get back inside the house before I drive myself crazy with unanswered questions. I know very well that these are the questions I need to ask Thando and it's a conversation we need to have.
"There you are. I thought someone kidnapped out there for a minute." Thando says as soon as she see me. 
"My dad is a superhero, no one would kidnap him. He'd beat each one of them." Trey tells Thando confidently.
"Oh, I know very well how your dad can fight Trey. I have full faith on him." She says as she gives me a knowing look.
"Alright bud it's time for you to sleep now. Say goodnight to Thando."
"Oh, come on daddy. Can't Istay a bit longer? Please, please." He begs giving me his best puppy eyes.
"I promise you can stay late tomorrow my love. Thando is really tired and needs."
"Okay but on two conditions." He says giving me his serious face.
"Let's hear them."
"That she sleeps here and that she reads me a goodnight story."
"Please auntie Thando." My son pleads and Thando stares at me asking for permission which I grant in a nod.
"I'll be honored little Trey." She tells him as she extend her hand which he takes and they walk upstairs leaving me on my own. I tidy up in the meantime buying time before Thando comes back.
It's still feels surreal to me that today marks two months of my relationship with Thando and in these two months both of them have already delivered a relationship that is more stronger. Although they've always been close this is different. I know it's very much different because of how Trey is now acting. I can tell how happy my son is since I've told him about my relationship with Thando. I just hope I don't fuck up and end up breaking their hearts.

After what feels like forever my girlfriend finally emerges in the room looking like a goddess.
"Your beauty is unmatched." I tell her as she stands in front of me looking absolutely breathtaking and blushing.
"Thank you. You look rather dashing yourself." she smiles as she compliments me and my heart shimmy dance hearing her words.
"Me? Wearing this old top and jeans?" I ask playfully.
"Totally. I especially find you hot wearing exactly that outfit." She says as she moves herself between my legs holding onto my shoulders.
I arch my eyebrow. "I thought you find me hot when I'm naked?"
"You're right. There's something about seeing you naked."
"What's that look for?"
Thando bites my earlobe before she whispers. "I have something for you."
"What?" I ask squeezing my favorite spot.
"How about you take me upstairs and find out?" She says seductively.
"I have a better idea." I tell her kissing her softly.
"What?" She asks between our kiss biting my lip.
"You'll see." I tell her breaking our kiss. "Hold on tight."  I scoop her into my arms and her legs automatically wrap around my waist as I take us away.
