DRAVEN'S POV
"N-No‚ No! Cassandra please! 'Wag kang pumikit!" Seraphina cheered for Cassandra while tears streamed down her face.
Did she just save me?
I snapped back to reality upon noticing the man standing not far away, staring at the woman he was attacking.
My fists clenched, and in an instant, I had his neck in my grasp. "YOU TRIED TO KILL HER!" My voice echoed with a trembling tone.
He grinned at me, almost as if he was proud of what he had done to the woman I loved. He had shattered my world, and I was determined to ensure that I would shatter his world without hesitation!
"I just do what's good-"
"DO YOU THINK IT'S GOOD?! WHAT DID SHE DO TO ALL OF YOU- JUST TO DO A SUCH THING LIKE THAT?!" I felt my eyes turning red at naramdaman ko rin yung mga ugat ko na nangingitim dahil sa galit na nararamdaman ko.
"T-The Descendant of Lucian‚ I see." aniya nang mahigpit kong hinawakan yung leeg niya. Nahihirapan na rin itong huminga dahil sa higpit na pagkahawak ko pero ngumingisi pa rin ito.
Fuck!
"ANSWER ME!" It seems like a heavy tension weighed down my voice. I wasn't sure where it came from, but at that moment, I didn't care to find out.
"S-She killed my child," he said, a tear glistening in his eye.
What did he mean? His child was killed by his own child as well? Ridiculous.
"She won't do that," I asserted firmly.
Cassandra wouldn't do that. She was Cassandra's daughter, so how could she harm her sibling if there was one? But how could she have a sibling when Caspian and Carmilla only had one child?
"She did. Because she's a killer." he angrily said.
"Who the hell are you? You're not his father. A father won't do a such a thing to his daughter."
"Because she isn't my daughter! Cassandra is different from that girl. And let me know you know that‚ I'm here to make that girl pay from what she have done! S-She killed my innocent child‚ 21 years ago!"
My jaw tightened at his words. Was the person standing before me now insane?
"You're crazy. Who are you really? You're not Caspian-"
"I am the real one. Darius is my twin brother; he orchestrated all of this-how cunning, right?" he interjected, prompting me to lift him even higher into the air, causing him to struggle for breath.
"She deserved it, Draven. She doesn't belong in this world. Maliya-" I didn't let him finish speaking as I tore his heart from his chest.
"Don't you dare talk to my girl like that. Or else death will face you." I murmured softly, watching his body turn to ashes and dissipate in the wind's gentle breeze.
"C-Cassandra‚ please. . . 'wag kang pumikit! Don't give up‚ ipapagamot ka namin-" napabalik ako sa diwa ko nang marinig yung umiiyak na boses ni Elysia. Fuck. I almost fucking forgot!
I immediately ran swiftly towards Cassandra, who was now bathing in her own blood.
"Fuck," I cursed. I lifted her and cradled her in my arms; she was fighting for her life! And I had no idea what to do.
"D-Draven..." she whispered. Her body was growing cold from the blood loss.
"P-Please, p-please, my love, don't sleep-don't you try to sleep," I tried to hold back tears, but the emotions weighing on me were too heavy. Everyone started crying because of Sandra's condition.
"I-I love you..." she murmured. My heart clenched at her words; I loved her too. But why did her tone sound so painful? Like she was saying goodbye?
No, Draven. She won't leave you.
"I love you too, so, don't leave us, okay? Promise us," tears streamed down my face as I spoke. I choked up as if something was blocking my throat.
"P-Promise," she responded, and her eyes closed.
My companions broke down in uncontrollable sobs.
"C-Cassandra," Seraphina covered her mouth, embraced tightly by Damien.
"N-No, she can't die. She can't." pagkukumbinsi ni Elysia sa kaniyang sarili habang nakatingin sa katawan ni Sandra na andito sa bisig ko.
I swallowed hard and held onto her cold body. She had suffered enough; she sacrificed her life because of me.
"This is my fault. I shouldn't have let her do that," I whispered weakly.
I felt my friends approaching. "H-Hindi mo kasalanan‚ Draven. G-Ginawa 'yon ni Cassandra para iligtas ka. Hindi niya rin ginusto 'to mangyari. . ." halos pabulong na ani Thalia.
I disregarded what she said as I felt Cassandra's body slowly fading away. She can't turn into ashes-I swear.
"No‚ no- please. . . g-gumising ka. You promised me‚ remember? W-Wag na muna ngayon." yinakap ko siya ng mahigpit.
I don't want to let her go; I want her to be mine. She promised me, but why didn't she fulfill it? She vowed to me that she wouldn't leave, so why did she still do it?
"D-Draven tama na-"
"NO! HOW CAN I STOP IF SANDRA'S BODY TURNING INTO ASHES?!" hindi ko na napigilan na mapasigaw dahil sa bigat na nararamdaman ko.
She died already‚ pero bakit sumobra naman ata? Bakit kailangan niya pang maging abo para patunayan sa 'min na patay na siya?
"Draven‚ please- pakawalan mo na si Sandra‚ nahihirapan na siya sa umpisa pa lang kaya sana this time‚ hayaan mo na siyang sumaya-"
"How about us? Don't y'all think we can still be happy from what happened to her? SHE DIED!" galit na ani ko. How can I be happy kung wala na yung babaeng nagpapasaya sa'kin?
"Kung ano man yung mangyayaring masama sa'kin, gusto ko lang sabihin na nangyari iyon ng may dahilan."
I couldn't help but close my eyes as I remembered what she told me before. I love her damn much. But why did she have to go through all of this?
"P-Promise. . ."
Her sweet voice keeps echoing in my mind. Her gentle tone has become painful to hear. Painful because she's bidding goodbye-I don't want to let her go, I don't want to release her. She's my life, love, home. But it was shattered because of this event.
The winds finally took away Cassandra's ashes, intensifying the sound of sobbing in the hall. The atmosphere inside was filled with a somber tension, many were in tears due to what happened to her.
Even the witches. I knew they couldn't do anything because it was too late.
It's over. . .
She woke up from years of slumber. . .
But she died without even getting the chance to live peacefully again. . .
