Freen's PoV
It was a cloudy morning, and I had a feeling it would rain today, so I grabbed an umbrella as my mom and I headed to the restaurant. There weren't many customers today, so I found myself with some free time. I hugged my mom, feeling an unexpected longing for Becky's presence. Suddenly, I saw Deek's car pull up. Excited to see her, I decided to prepare a special dish as a thank-you for all her help.
But as I turned to head inside, I saw a familiar figure behind her. It was... Becky. My whole body went numb. I couldn't explain how I felt at that moment. For an instant, I forgot about the kiss with Friend. All I could remember was Becky's cute baby face.
They walked towards me, and tears welled up in my eyes. My mom noticed and asked, "Freen, what happened?"
I fell to my knees, overwhelmed by all the emotions I had been holding in for so long. Becky ran to me and knelt in front of me. She joined her hands and pleaded, "Freen, please forgive me. I know I'm not worthy of it, but please, I can't imagine my life without you. I've become so weak without you. I love you so much, Freen. About that kiss, it was just a goodbye kiss that came out emotionally. I really didn't cheat on you, Freen. I'm sorry. Please, forgive me."
She was crying miserably. My mom, who was standing beside me, put her hand on my shoulder to calm me down.
"Freen, don't let the past take away your present. What happened is in the past. Now forgive her and be happy. She's truly sorry for what she did."
I wiped my tears and looked at Becky, who was still crying and asking for forgiveness. I reached out and wiped her tears away. I couldn't stand to see her cry anymore. I hugged her tightly.
I felt pity for her. She had gone through a lot and hadn't actually taken revenge on me. As she said, it was just emotions running high. I do love her, but I'll need some time to trust her again. I broke the hug, and she smiled, her eyes still filled with tears. She pushed a strand of my hair behind my ear and caressed my cheek.
"I missed you a lot, Saro!" she said.
"I missed you a lot too, Bec," I replied.
She leaned in to kiss me, but I placed my hand between us. I wasn't ready to give in so easily. Let her work for it.
She cleared her throat and said, "Well, as long as you're not comfortable, I won't do anything. But can we stay together? I really miss your cuddles."
I nodded. "Yeah, you can stay with me and my mom here in the village, but remember, I won't give you anything that easily. You have to try harder and prove that you love me."
She smiled and pinched my cheeks. "Okay, boss. I'll make you fall for me sooner than you think. You can't resist me for long!"
I stuck my tongue out playfully. "Let's see what happens."
We hugged again, and I felt the comfort I had missed for so many months. As we broke the hug and stood up, my mom was watching us with a smile. I asked, "Mom, can she stay?"
My mom teased, "Of course, Freen. Your wife can always stay with us."
I quickly corrected her, "Mom, she's not my wife at all."
Becky interjected, "Mom, we never married. She just signed the marriage contracts I manipulated her into signing years ago because I loved her even then."
My mom chuckled. "Good, because as much as I know, Freen is not so easy to fall for someone. I wonder how she fell for you."
I blushed. "Mom, that's enough. Customers are waiting. Let's get back to work."
Becky and my mom both smiled, clearly enjoying the moment. I pouted and walked away, feeling slightly betrayed by how quickly they teamed up. How could even my mom join her side? It's not fair.
