Glitch POV

My eyes widen as three blinding lights hover down. I tilt my head in confusion.

Glitch: "Who... or what are you?"

The lights shine, blinding me. When my sight returns I discover the lights have turned into a tall figure cloaked in robes.

???: ""I have many names. But you may know me best as creator."

My eyes widen.

Glitch: "Wait, you're the great creator. I thought you were a myth."

Creator: "Many people doubt my existence. If they do then they can. I do not mind. I only wish to provide life."

Glitch: "Speaking of. The Tree of Reality fell. Everyone's gone."

They show sadness.

Creator: "I'm aware. It brings ache to my heart seeing my greatest creation be toppled."

Glitch: "But for some reason I'm still alive. How?"

Creator: "You possess a truly unique power. Lurking within your blood is the multiverse itself. This gives you the ability to traverse it as if you were breathing."

Glitch: "But sadly I can't. It only works when I'm under intense stress."

Creator: "Which is why it brought you here. After feeling a sense of fear beyond comprehension you came where death dare not set foot. My home."

Glitch: "Then this works out perfectly. Can you fix the Tree?"

Creator: "I cannot."

Glitch: "Why?"

Creator: "It took most of my power to craft it. The most I can do it close the hole in existence its fall created."

Glitch: "Are their others like you?"

Creator: "There are."

Glitch: "Then have them help you."

Creator: "I'm afraid they cannot. Each creator is bound by sacred law to maintain their own creation."

I hang my head. Tears run down my cheeks. Creator places their hand on my shoulder.

Creator: "I am sorry I cannot help you. But I have hope the answer will present itself. We just have to look within."

My head perks up.

Glitch: "Earlier you said lurking within is the multiverse itself."

Creator: "I did."

Glitch: "Is there any way I can perhaps bring it into creation? As a substitute for the Tree of Reality?"

Creator ponders.

Creator: "I suppose there might. But-"

Glitch: "But what?"

Creator: "You'd have to give up your life."

I look down.

Glitch: "Oh."

I look back at Creator.

Glitch: "But would it work?"

Creator: "Theoretically."

Glitch: "Then I'll do it."

Creator: "Are you sure? Once you do this, there will be no undoing it."

Glitch: "My entire journey up to this point started because I wanted to know what kinda hero I wanted to be. But hearing what you said has given me my answer. I'm gonna be all the heroes."

Creator: "I do not understand your statement."

Glitch: "It's as you said. Within my blood is the multiverse. That means I don't have to limit myself to being a single kind of hero. There's a never ending sea of worlds out there. Each in need of a specific kind of hero. And with my power I can be whatever hero is needed. If a world needs someone who's selfless, I'll be the guy who's ready to give their life. If a world is consumed by injustice, I'll be the one to deliver justice. And most importantly. If a world has people who live in fear, I'll be hero who puts on a brave face so no one else has to. So instead of being a single type of hero, I'm gonna be all of them."
