Glitch POV
The figure puts their hood back on. He then looks at me while hovering into the air
Figure: "I'd advise you to stay out of our way."
As he says that five other figures join his side. Each one I stare at I feel nothing but murderous intent from them.
Figure: "If you don't, death will seem like mercy."
A portal opens which they enter. The last one stays behind. Looking over his shoulder he smiles, displaying razor sharp teeth that come to a point. He then turns, launching something at me. Looking down I see a massive spike between my feet. Looking back at the figure he chuckles sadistically before turning to the portal.
Figure: "Choose wisely meat sack."
He walks through the portal finally leaving.
*timeskip*
Back at the hideout I see everyone slowly recovering from the fight. Ember then stands before us with a bloodied bandage wrapped around her forehead.
Ember: "Everyone okay?"
They voice various responses.
Ember: "How're you feeling Zander?"
I look at him to see dust being pumped into his arm.
Zander: "Confused. Why was my father acting like that? And why didn't he recognize me? It's like it was him, but at the same time it wasn't."
Chase: "It could have been an alternate."
We all look at him.
Ember: "What's an alternate?"
Chase: "It's something my dad came up with. It was meant to classify a different version of someone."
Ember: "How does he know about them?"
Chase: "He encountered one after his mom died. It sent him to another universe. Once he got back he dedicated his life to studying the multiverse. Alternates are one thing he discovered."
Ember: "What all did he find out about them?"
He walks to a chalkboard. He then begins drawing.
Chase: "Throughout our lives we're faced with countless decisions, each impacting how our life plays out. But throughout each life there's something he called the zero point. A point in time which a decision is so critical its outcome dictates how the rest of the story plays out. Once the decision is made there's zero chance of ever tasking it back."
He pauses.
Chase: "Through these zero points a different version of ourselves are made. We represent the choice we made. But the alternates represent the other choice. I believe the Super we saw is an alternate. But none of my dad's research reported an alternate being so violent."
Ember: "So does that mean he's not an alternate?"
Chase: "I don't know. He displayed all of Super's powers but has no memory of Zander. So he must be an alternate from very early in Super's life."
Glitch: "Then I'm guessing the others are alternates too."
They all look at me in confusion.
Ember: "There were others?"
Glitch: "Yeah."
I use the chalk to draw the others to the best of my memory. When finished they look over each drawing. They then developed a look of horror.
Glitch: "Something wrong?"
Ember: "These people..."
Lily: "They're..."
Everyone: "Our parents/grandpa."
A/N: at this point I would recommend reading RWBY: Alternates. It will explain the backgrounds to the upcoming villains.
