Speedy Return

Iron POV

Arriving at our destination we walk down the road. Coming to a large building I turn to the others.

Iron: "Before we enter, be warned. It's gonna be loud."

Y/N: "Most of us have children. I'm sure we're all used to loud."

Iron: "Just tryna warn you."

We enter the building going to the top floor. Getting there we knock on the door. It opens revealing Alice.

Alice: "Hey, it's you guys! Long time no see. What brings you back here?"

Iron: "We're here for Speed. Is he here by chance?"

Alice: "No, but if you come inside I can call him and get him to come here."

Iron: "If you don't mind."

She opens the door letting us inside. Immediately we're graced with the rest of Speed's clan. Cody just watches TV while Sam munches on various objects. We each take a seat and wait. After a minute or two Alice comes back into view.

Alice: "He's on his way."

Iron: "Thank you."

Alice: "Now that that's taken care of,"

She puffs into smoke appearing by the TV. She then flicks it off.

Cody: "Hey!"

Alice: "You've been watching TV all day."

Cody: "And that's how I'll spend the rest of my Saturday!"

Alice: "You're so lazy."

Cody: "What'd you call me?"

Alice: "I'm sorry, let me speak up."

She appears right next to him.

Alice: "I called you a lazy bum!!!"

Cody: "That's it!!!"

He swings at her but she disappears. He chases after her, kickstarting the mayhem.

Y/N: "I now see what you meant."

*meanwhile Speed POV*

I chuckle as the comedian says the punchline. But looking over I see Ruby losing herself to laughter.

Comedian: "You guys have been awesome. Have a good night."

We give him a standing ovation. We then exit the building heading back to Beacon.

Speed: "You sure were laughing hard."

Ruby: "He was just so good. He has a gift for combining cynicism and comedy. It also helps that he's mastered deadpan delivery."

I smile. My scroll then rings.

Speed: "Hello?"

Alice: "Hey, your friends from far away are here."

Speed: "They say what they need?"

Alice: "Yeah. They need to see you."

Speed: "Alright. Be there in a flash."

Alice: "See you then."

I hang up facing Ruby.

Ruby: "Everything okay?"

Speed: "I don't know. My friends need me."

Ruby: "Then let's not keep them waiting."

I pick her up bridal style. Then taking a step I run us to my home. Entering the room I see all hell breaking loose.

Ruby: "Seems some things never change."

Speed: "Yep."

Setting her down I whistle loudly. My siblings cease all movement looking at me.

Speed: "I request the meeting room."

They nod leaving the living room.

Iron POV

The kids leave, finally bringing an end to the chaos. 

Y/N: "Thank Oum. Peace and quiet."

Speed: "So what's the situation?"

Iron: "Our three weeks have expired. Meaning it's time to assemble the team."

Speed nods. Turning to Ruby he plants a kiss on her forehead. 

Speed: "Wish me luck."

Ruby: "Good luck. Come back safe."

We stand up as Speed joins us. Mashing the dial we arrive at the location of our last teammate. But the second we arrive we notice something off.
