Iron POV

I launch several disks that embed into the dirt. When they're ready I get a call from Weiss.

Iron: "Hey honey."

Weiss: "How goes saving the universe?"

Iron: "We're making preparations."

Weiss: "Sounds interesting."

Iron: "How're you?"

Weiss: "Good mostly. Sad that you're not here. But I've been fighting crime to help keep me occupied."

Iron: "How's the city doing?"

Weiss: "Wondering where their other hero is. I told them you were away on a special mission. Speaking of mission, I've finished running project 57-214."

Iron: "And?"

Weiss: "All systems up and running."

Iron: "Are they ready to be launched?"

Weiss: "Not yet. S.A.M wants to run a few tests on them to make sure they're truly ready."

I laugh.

Iron: "She always demands perfection."

S.A.M: "I heard that."

We both laugh.

Iron: "I gotta go. Call you later."

Weiss: "Be safe."

Iron: "I'll try to."

She rolls her eyes. She then blows a kiss before ending the call.

Y/N POV

I cover my trap when Amica appears.

Amica: "Ruby's calling."

He hands me my scroll. Pressing answer I'm graced with a video call of Ruby.

Y/N: "There's my darling wife."

I hear footsteps coming my way. I then see the face of my darling daughter. 

Y/N: "And there's my loving daughter."

She playfully rolls her eyes.

Lily: "Where are you dad?"

Y/N: "Get this, another world."

They both show shock.

Ruby: "Lucky."

I aim the camera at the other guys.

Y/N: "And these're my new friends."

I aim the camera back at me.

Y/N: "I miss you guys."

Lily: "We miss you too."

Amica gets in the picture.

Aica: "What about me?"

Lily smiles while Ruby looks to the side. She then speaks with little care.

Ruby: "I don't know if I can say the same."

Amica hangs his head. Lily nudges her mother.

Lily: "Why're you so mean to uncle Amica?"

She still doesn't look.

Ruby: "He knows why."

Amica: "I said I was sorry."

Ruby: "And I still haven't forgiven you. I likely never will."

Me and Lily shake our heads.

Y/N/Lily: "You'll forgive him."

After an hour or two we finish our preparations. We then make our way back to the hideout.

Faunus: "What do we do now?"

John: "We try to train. Every last bit gives us a better chance of winning."

Iron POV

After an intense training session I pull out my scroll and walk to each of my new teammates. The first is Faunus. I sneak behind him raising my fist. But when I bring it down he catches it without even turning around.

Faunus: "There a particular reason you tried to ambush me?"

He finally turns around.

Iron: "Just testing a theory. You confirmed it."

I take notes.

Iron: "So how did you do that? See my attack without looking at me?"

Faunus: "It's a skill I learned. By focusing my heightened senses I can pinpoint attacks that I either can't or aren't able to see."

Iron: "So like an early attack sense?"

Faunus: "Basically."

Iron: "Interesting."

I write that down. I then walk to Y/N. I go to poke him but a tendril wraps around my wrist.

Iron: "What is this substance?"

Y/N: "Grimm essence."

Amica's face appears.

Amica: "Sentient Grimm essence."

Iron: "Are your tendrils good for offensive as well as defensive?"

Another tendril appears. This one transforms into a solid bone axe.

Y/N: "They can morph into weaponry."

I develop a smile.

Iron: "Remarkable."

I get released allowing me to write notes on my scroll.
