Speed POV
We press down. We then all gear up for upcoming fight. When we're ready the others look at me. Amica readies his goo when I hold up my hand.
Speed: "Hold on. I wanna it myself. Just this once."
He backs away.
Amica: "If you think you can handle it."
I take a deep breath bracing myself. I move my arm immediately summoning the lightning. I bite my cheek as my body now emits the lightning. I feel my body slipping but steel myself. I kick it to the max. With a scream of pain I make a slash motion. A rift opens as I fall to my knee calming my power.
Iron: "You okay?"
I pant holding my heart.
Speed: "I will be. Just need a moment to rest."
Reclaiming my breath I stand and walk through the rift with the others. Coming out I look around at our surroundings.
Speed: "Still odd. You'd think they'd pick a hideout that screams supervillain."
We begin walking. But the world cracks apart. When things settle down we see a world completely void of life. The earth is laid bare as the sky display an eerie cloudy night aesthetic.
Super: "Satisfied?"
Speed: "Jury's out."
Faunus: "Found something."
We follow his finger spotting a single stone structure.
Amica: "You think he's there?"
Iron: "I don't know. But we're gonna find out."
We make our way to the building. Getting there we see stone pillars arranged in a strange formation.
Speed: "What do you think these're for?"
Faunus: "I'd wager sacrifices."
Voice: "You'd be correct."
We look and all narrow our eyes.
Iron: "You."
Nero: "There's more of you."
Faunus: "You'll pay for what you've done to John."
Nero: "He was an obstacle, one my master had to get rid of. If not then our plan won't come true."
Speed: "What do you get out of this?"
He looks at me.
Nero: "What'd you mean?"
Speed: "You're helping a madman conquer all of life. What's he promising you?"
He stares blankly. He then shows a soft emotion.
Nero: "You ever suffer heartache? Stings so bad you see yourself doing the unforgiveable? I did. I lost everything I ever cared about. I was the sole survivor of my world. I prayed, to anything that was listening. Then I met my master. He understood my pain and offered to ease it. He said he could bring back everything I lost. So naturally I offered my services."
Speed: "But what if he can't bring it all back?"
He cocks an eyebrow.
Nero: "Explain."
Speed: "Say he can't grant your wish. What then?"
He remains silent for a minute. He then stares at me with no emotion in his eyes.
Nero: "Then oh well. Not like I can suffer worse."
He disappears from our line of sight. The world slows down as I look around. Landing on Iron I see him about to have his head lobbed off. I run to him pulling him away. I then slug Nero in the face. Time resumes as he flies backwards crashing through three pillars.
Iron: "What just happened?"
Speed: "He nearly killed you. Luckily I punched him away."
Their eyes slightly widen when the world slows down again. This time I move Faunus to the side, sparing him from a hand through the back. Now in the clear I kick Nero's chest sending him skidding across the floor.
Nero: "What the hell's going on?"
