Meeting The Crew

Glitch POV

Upon stepping through the portal I find myself in a type of warehouse. Looking forward I see a group of people already here.

Girl1: "This the kid?"

Girl2: "Yep."

Boy1: "Good. Then we can finally get down to business."

Girl2: "Have a seat."

I take a seat between a girl in black and a boy with a cape. The girl that brought me here then stands before us.

Girl2: "Now that all players are present, let's get introductions out of the way. My name is Ember."

She points to each person as she says their name.

Ember: "These are Noir, Zander, Lily, Axel and Chase."

They each bind a hello. She then points to me.

Ember: "And this is Glitch."

I raise an eyebrow.

Glitch: "How do you know my name?"

Ember: "That ties into why you're here."

She leans on the table.

Ember: "As we all know, or some of us."

She looks at me.

Ember: "Thirteen years ago our parents/grandparent fought an ancient primordial being named Deus. They managed to beat him. But something tells me they've only won the battle."

She pauses.

Ember: "Reports say other worlds have been vanishing without a trace. So I propose we head to one of those worlds and see what we can find."

They all stand up. Axel then fiddles with a device on his wrist.

Glitch: "What's that little doohickey?"

Axel: "It's called the A.M.I.D. It's an invention curtesy of my dad. It's what allowed all of our parents to travel the multiverse."

I marvel at it when he stops fiddling. He then mashes the dial in. Our bodies dissolve into light. I scream as we fly through tunnels of light. After a couple of seconds we arrive on a world with a massive divide in it.

Ember: "What's the status?"

A holographic square appears on Axel's right eye.

Axel: "All life has been eradicated. Complete planetary destruction in six hours."

I become sad.

Ember: "We have six hours to search. You find anything report immediately."

Everyone splits up. I meanwhile stay with Ember.

Ember: "There a reason you're still here?"

Y/N: "I was just hoping you'd answer some questions I got."

Ember: "I can try."

Y/N: "First. Who're y'all's parents?"

Ember: "They were a group of heroes who were brought together to help defend the multiverse."

Y/N: "If that's the case then why aren't hey here to help?"

She becomes sad.

Ember: "Because they're dead."

Y/N: "What happened?"

She takes a deep breath.

Ember: "It was just a normal peaceful day. My family was watching me play softball when all of a sudden the sky turned red. I remember everyone screaming. Then they just started vanishing into smoke. It was utter chaos. Pretty soon my family followed suit. But before my grandpa faded he sent me to a safe place. He told me to find others like me. And that's what I did. For thirteen years I scoured the multiverse for others. But everywhere I arrived the same thing happened, worlds of people, gone without a trace."
