What I Wanna Be

Glitch POV

There's a couple seconds of silence. Creator finally breaks.

Creator: "You're truly a special person Glitch. It brings me joy knowing you are the one who the multiverse chose to embody."

The Creator's eyes shine, bathing the place in light. When it subsides I find myself standing on the Tree of Reality which is now nothing but a black stump. I take a deep breath.

Glitch: "You can do this. Just dig deep."

Closing my eyes I look deep within myself.

3rd POV

Glitch retreats into his mind. From there he opens his senses to the chaos in his DNA. This grants him sight to all known worlds. A heavenly aura now surrounds him. Multiple sections branch out and embed into the Tree of Reality stump. A light flickers from within the stump.

Glitch: "Focus. Feel the worlds coursing through you."

The flicker picks up a steady rhythm while getting progressively brighter. Glitch groans in pain. His body develops cracks which slowly split open. He bares his teeth but keeps his concentration.

Glitch: "Your pain is nothing compared to the pain they felt."

The stump becomes solid white. Glitch opens his eyes. Peering inside we see feeds of countless worlds playing. He opens his mouth with his voice being a combination of several others.

Glitch: "With my body you shall all have a home. And so long as there's good, no evil shall destroy it."

Stretching his arms out and turning his head up to the heavens he sheds a tear.

Glitch: "Now grow."

His explodes into light. When it subsides we see all the heroes laying on the ground. They awaken, looking around.

Ember: "Didn't we just die?"

Lily: "We did but..."

Noir: "We're back somehow."

Axel: "What happened while we were dead?"

Chase: "Guys."

They join him.

Axel: "It's Glitch."

They take in his now wooden appearance with a slight glow.

Ember: "What happened to him?"

???: "He became the next Tree of Reality."

They turn and go wide eyed seeing their parents. They join their kids.

Noir: "What do you mean became the new Tree?"

Rider: "He used his power to become the Tree. Through his power the multiverse will continue to grow. It's thanks to him we're alive again."

They all adopt a somber look.

Faunus: "Looks like he was the true protector."

Iron: "We owe everything to him."

Super: "And it's up to us to make sure the multiverse knows who to thank."

*timeskip*

3rd POV

And so peace was brought to the multiverse. Shortly after returning to their proper world, each hero told the sacrifice Glitch made. His story spread throughout the multiverse. Nowadays once a year everyone dedicates a month to Glitch and the sacrifice he made.

As for the protectors, when they're not keeping their world they visit Glitch. They tell him what's been going on and how thankful they are for him. Many generations would pass, each birthing a hero.

Once they were old enough they would join the Protectors and help defend Glitch's grave. Because of him the multiverse was allowed to witness several heroes be born and become legends. And because of him, it'll get to witness many more.
