3rd POV

Chase looks around for Rift. His body instinctually twists to the side. This keeps Rift from grabbing his neck. But grabbing his arm he holds Rift steady.

Rift: "Isn't this poetic? I fought your father and now I fight you. It's like fate."

Chase: "He kicked your butt before. Now it's my turn."

Chase goes to punch Rift. But he creates a portal that catches Chase's fist. Another portal opens which spits out Chase's fist and makes him punch himself in the face.

Rift: "Oh yeah I forgot to mention. Deus was kinda enough to give me a few upgrades."

Rift kicks Chase's knee taking him down. He then attempts to plunge a dagger into Chase's neck. But he vibrates his body allowing the dagger to phase through him. Now in the clear Chase slams his foot into Rift's chest putting distance between them.

Chase: "You said you got upgrades? Let's see how good they are."

Turning around Chase takes off into the distance.

Rift: "Game on."

Hopping through a portal he appears above Chase. He however strafes avoiding a boot. Chase elbows Rift in the face. Gritting his teeth Rift swings his arm at Chase. He however catches it before kicking out his legs. As they go into the air Chase runs away only to come back on the other side and slam his elbow onto Rift's stomach.

Rift: "Not bad. But now it's my turn."

Chase is engulfed in a portal being transported to a void.

Rift: *echoing* "Welcome to my void. In here I'm king."

An unseen force hits Chase in the face. Immediately after something hits his legs, making him do several backflips. What follows is him continuously getting struck by an unseen force.

Rift: "What's wrong? Don't know what to do? How about accepting your fate and die like a true hero?"

Chase: "Never."

Rift: "You might as well. You cannot escape my void."

Chase: "You've got your tricks. And I've got mine."

Taking a deep breath he fully puts his body at ease. He then begins vibrating his body. Lightning now crackles over him quickly creating a small lightning storm.

Rift: "What're you doing?"

With a scream chase spreads out his arms. That lightning explodes outwards. It quickly consumes the area making Rift scream in pain. Chase is returned to the real world where he sees Rift convulsing with lighting shooting off him.

Rift: "What did... you do?"

Chase: "I funneled all my power into my body, turning myself into a massive lightning rod. I then simply redirected it to you."

Rift: "Ass...hole."

He finally passes out. Turning his back to him Chase vibrates his arm.

Chase: "Time to head back to the others."

With a slash motion he creates a portal which he uses to leave.
